I held on to anger
From my past
And it aged me way to fast

I looked in the mirror and I asked
Who is this that I see

I didn't know the person looking back at me

So Lord, would you please not lift my face

Don't tuck away the extra thats around my waist

Just tuck away my heart and keep it safe

Don't worry about the age spots or the wrinkles in my skin

Just come on the inside and make me beautiful again

Very honest and timely poem: nice job!

I too have first hand experience of being in the grip of anger, unsteady in my sense of personal identity and feeling that the changes within me and around me were not in my control.

Psalm 103 was good spiritual food for me at the time. But whatever you do or read, I'm so glad you're writing and sharing.
