He was a master sergeant in the air force before he was on tv painting. I don't think they would have been keen on his later look of having a beard and permed hair lol. But, I think it suited him!

Well, the kids and I appreciated a beard, because hubby/dad was stubby and we didn't like getting scratched. Once the kids brought home a kitten someone needed to find a home for. Hubby said he didn't want one, but when the kitten snuggled into his beard, he was sold and it became his favorite pet snuggle. Of course, it usually included a small child with it, so that worked.
It's that time of year. Decorate those beards!
