I used to love God with my whole heart. I saw and experienced the power of the Holy Spirit very strongly in the church. When I was 14, I first heard about blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. I never gave it much thought until later kept on thinking about it. I looked up the verses and it spoke about what the pharisees said about Jesus Christ. I kept having these thoughts in my head and I didn't want to really do it. It sucks badly. One day, I was having these thoughts and I had some doubts and I actually believed one of these blasphemous thoughts about what the pharisees said about Jesus's miracles when they accused him of demonic power and I tried to rebuke it from my heart but it was too late. I tried to come to Christ and repent several times but nothing happened. No heart conversion or conviction of my wrongdoings. I hate myself. I just wished that I never heard about the unpardonable sin. It seems too late and I don't know what to do next.
Well, there’s a difference between actually blaspheming the Holy Spirit and intellectually analyzing in your thoughts how one might go about actually doing it. I think it’s normal to mentally assess how something is done so we can understand it, avoid it, and maybe reverse engineer it.

Not too many years ago there was an internet trend where people were doing something called the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit challenge. They’d get on camera and put their videos online saying very offensive things. Did they actually blaspheme the Holy Spirit? I don’t know exactly, but it isn’t like you were intentionally trying to do anything wrong. God knows our hearts. Amen?

Anyway, there are many different ways to understand what blasphemy is.

Not a big GotQuestions.org fan, but this is what their article says and I’ll cite the link below:

“Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit has to do with accusing Jesus Christ of being demon-possessed instead of Spirit-filled. This particular type of blasphemy cannot be duplicated today. The Pharisees were in a unique moment in history: they had the Law and the Prophets, they had the Holy Spirit stirring their hearts, they had the Son of God Himself standing right in front of them, and they saw with their own eyes the miracles He did. Never before in the history of the world (and never since) had so much divine light been granted to men; if anyone should have recognized Jesus for who He was, it was the Pharisees. Yet they chose defiance. They purposely attributed the work of the Spirit to the devil, even though they knew the truth and had the proof. Jesus declared their willful blindness to be unpardonable. Their blasphemy against the Holy Spirit was their final rejection of God’s grace. They had set their course, and God was going to let them sail into perdition unhindered.”

I think blaspheming the holy spirit can be illustrated as making the wrong choice between believing Him when he convicts you that we all need a savior or excusing ourselves from needing a savior. And since this is a free choice given and God doesn't won't back what He gives, then it is impossible that it, exercising your freewill accordingly, can be 'forgiven.' For example, the choices of what we are able to pray are between, "Lord, help, I don't want to sin," and "Lord, I sin because of this or that so as long as this or that are there...I'm going to...' which is not far from similarly, "I'll sin all that I like." The effectiveness of each prayer is equal, however polar opposites the effectiveness of the deliverance is resulting in. We've all been lost but none has ever truly been without hope, not as long as you recognize Who our hope is in.

Sounds like intrusive thoughts to me. It is very common obsession in religious obsessions. If these thoughts continue to bother you, I would seek out counseling from a professional counselor. These kind of thoughts are very common in religious OCD in particular but people without OCD can also have fears regarding eternity. Even John Bunyan had blasphemous thoughts and feared for his soul. You may find his book Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners encouraging though it could also be potentially triggering for the anxiety you are experiencing over this. John Bunyan is the pastor who also wrote Pilgrim's Progress.

Wait, isn't that a contradiction? Jesus said blasphemy against the Holy Spirit won't be forgiven at all so how can someone go to heaven after doing that?
In my view Jesus wasn't talking about a singular event but an ongoing condition of the heart. Jesus said in Matthew 15:18-19: "But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies."

You seem determined to sentence yourself to Hell. You should relax and turn to the Lord. If you go on thinking you're doomed, you might just start acting like you're already doomed, and then you may genuinely be in danger.

honestly it seems like this post is coming from a place of repentance to me repentance doesn’t mean now your never going to sin again your now expected to be perfect it means in your heart you feel convicted like you do according to your post and the. You respond ton hat conviction that’s repentance the way you feel is meant to bring you to humility and repentance it’s already doing that in my opinion the tree why this matters to you your repenting

“Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭7:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

repentance is t something we do Willy nilly it comes from a sorrow and pain in the heart a desperate feeling inside that feeling is what is meant tomlewd you to a point where you break and accept the intent to change your ways

this comes because we start hearing the truth about sin

pray to God and pour out your heart reach out to him it’s a great time

"Get behind me, satan." Why don't you say this until the devil whispering in your ear goes away?

IMO you need knowledge of what the Bible actually teaches. Trust in Jesus to be your guide in life, this is the Christian faith.

Daniel, I echo the sentiments of the others on this forum - you haven't gone to far. I struggle sometimes with forgiving myself for the things that I"ve done especially as a Christian. I have to remind myself of the love God has for me and if He can forgive me who am I to say different. My suggestion is, and even if you don't feel like it, start to praise Jesus for what he's done - inhale the beauty and knowledge of how He cares and loves you. Commit yourself to start to read the Bible - Romans 10:17 " Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. " Build up your faith and I believe that conviction of the heart will come to you. Keep fighting, you have a savior that loves and is watching over you.

What
Um.. What do you think you are doing right now if not feeling convicted of something you think you did wrong?

As Magenta has said, You wouldn't care one whit about God, or what we think, if you committed the Unpardonable sin.

Understand your accuser the devil, get's great joy in seeing you in torment over this. Don't believe his lies.

But your Father in Heaven LOVES you!

Now, do you believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, come to die to pay your sin debt, and was raised to life 3 days after his death?

What evidence do you have that if someone has committed the unforgivable sin, he would not care about what God or Christians think?

Generally speaking, people who are not saved do not concern themselves with whether or not they are saved.
That is weird. when God declares ...saved....after death and from His judgment...there is no choice.

You must be speaking of...born again. Concentrate on being correct of God's word...less on art flare.

Not true.
Where did you get that from...the art world?

Matt 12: 31-32
31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Everything in existance in time is of God who IS His Holy Spirit. The Father operates through Himself ( who is a spirit , the Holy Spirit, the One true God). All spiritual and human beings can be hosts for His Holy Spirit. The Father communicates with the host and gives it power to perform His will. The Son of man is filled with the Father's Spirit, but IS NOT the Father's Spirit. The host can be blasphemed but what is in the host is God Himself ( His Holy Spirit) and that cannot be forgiven.

I hope that helps in your understanding.

What

What evidence do you have that if someone has committed the unforgivable sin, he would not care about what God or Christians think?
When Jesus spoke of this sin of blasphemy, WHO was He talking about, and what was their response to His declaration that blasphemy of the Holy Spirit won’t be forgiven?

Was it not the Pharisees, and did they give one whit what Jesus thought when they committed that sin?
And did they not prove they had no remorse, repentance or conviction by bringing Him before pilot and having Him killed?

I just feel an intellectual knowledge of sin, not conviction at all

You can't go by feelings because they our feelings change day to day. God says He will save you and if you believe that and have confessed your sins and accept the sacrifice Jesus made for you on the cross then you are saved and it doesn't matter how you feel.

You will see a change in your life because you want to become more like Jesus and treat everyone like Jesus did. By beholding we become changed. Only you know if you have asked God for forgiveness and accepted Jesus as your Savior I can't tell you that so you can know right now if you are saved or not.

2 Thessalonians 2:10 (KJV)

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Your lack of love for truth has found you out once again.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may
know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:13

One cannot know they have eternal life unless they are saved. Please study Scripture for these Truths.

first off ,

you did not do the unpardonable sin.

Your issue is you do not understand spiritual warfare. A Thought is just that and is caused by two things 1. that which is in your heart coming to your mind.

2. an attack of the devil.

From what you hAVE SAID you have an unbiblical perspective of your situation.

You said :

1 "I used to love God with my whole heart."
2. "I saw and experienced the power of the Holy Spirit very strongly in the church. "
3. "I actually believed one of these blasphemous thoughts about what the pharisees said about Jesus's miracles when they accused him of demonic power"
4. "I tried to rebuke it from my heart but it was too late."

The only thing you did not do was have faith in what you prayed and asked God For. In addition, you are suffering from condemnation. I know you did not blasphemy the holy Spirit because you do not know what it is. The devil always tries to pervert our thoughts you are to give no place to the devil in your mind BUT we will try.

Read Eph chapter 6. and John chapter 3. Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is a very serious sin, however, Jesus is the only person who spoke of this in the New Testament, no one else used the term but him.

The word of God says it is I'm possible to please God without FAITH!
Those who come to HIM must believe that HE is and a rewarder of them that seek Him diligently

Hebrew 11:6

Also, we do not go by feeling. We go by faith. The issue here lies with you, not GOD. "You said, "I used to love God with my whole heart."

What changed? God has not stopped loving you. The devil is a liar. The only reason why you are suffering is you have the sin of disbelief. Remove the "I" and replace it with HIS word.

Jesus said if you call on the name of the Lord, HE will save you. Not maybe. ASK JESUS TO RESTORE THE JOY OF YOUR SALVATION.
Submit yourself to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

You have not done the unpardonable sin. You are immature in his word and relying on feeling more than faith and the word of God.

Have you talked to your pastor? Have you been to church ? have you asked the elders to pray for you?

Ya seem repentant to me.
I'm nit aware of any scripture that tells us we will feel anything at all about being forgiven. There are scripture that say the heart is deceptive. So probably dont trust your feelings.
What the pharisees did was much more than just say evil words. They had purposed to to harden their hearts against Jesus and hate him because he did good that they could not and would not if they could. They rejected Jesus out of malice and evil and put themselves beyond repentance. Much like pharaoh.

I am speaking of being saved, which you seem to think incorrect Scripturally speaking.

I will contribute further to your edification in this regard :)

Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved... Joel 2:32a

And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Acts 2:21

Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: "Though the number of the Israelites
is like the sand of the sea, only the remnant will be saved." Romans 9:27

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13

For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. Luke 9:24

For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. Mark 8:35

Heal me, LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise. Jeremiah 17:4

... He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.
He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,... Titus 3:5

Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He answers him from
His holy heaven with the saving power of His right hand. Psalm 20:6

For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God... Ephesians 2:8

Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through
Him, because he always lives to intercede for them. Hebrews 7:25

(God) wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:3

We believe it is through the grace of the Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are. Acts 5:11

For in this hope we were saved. from Romans 8:24

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. Luke 19:10

There may be more. It would be helpful for you to do your own study on this matter.

I don't even know what to do. Seriously, I am lost.
Its the enemy that is giving you these thoughts against the Lord Jesus to begin with.

Go to the Lord directly and ask Him the Truth. Ask Him for discernment so you can know what is from the Lord Jesus and what is from the enemy.
