Can't keep people out of threads. Anyone will be able post in it regardless of where they are, just like the rest of the forum.

The only reason that we have specific forums for India, Philippines, and Arab is because (at the time of their creation) we had a large amount of traffic from those areas and it allows for use of native languages within those forums whereas the primary reason for their creation (language) doesn't exist for Aussies.

The only Forum that we provide that is restricted to users of that group is the Ladies Forum and as such only females can see that forum.

The OP is more than welcome to start up a thread for Aussies but they will quickly find that (like others have in the past) that it will quickly die off.

what's the minimum number of people for a niche group ?

Yes. What you're posting in here, is a thread within the 'Suggestions' forum.
All you have to do is go to the main page, choose a different forum and start a thread just like you did with this one.

Ok. If you want a thread that talks about Aussie stuff or whatever it is you intended, all you need to do is start a thread as you did this one. Since you did it with this one, I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out again in a different forum. 👍

As I stated in my prior post, numbers are not the only thing considered.

Currently we have about 2,400 registered users from Australia (it has been quite a while since we purged inactive accounts).

of those:

156 have logged in in the past six months

40 have logged in in the past two months

33 have logged in this month (December)

Of those 33, less than half have posted in the past 30 days

I think it goes without saying that we aren't going to create a special forum for 15 active users.

Well, that 2,400 is now down to 1,600 since I just purged all accounts inactive for over 5 years.

Ultimately if you wish to create a thread, the Misc forum would be the location. This forum is for suggestions for site improvement not general discussion.

as long as the other Aus folks agree to put the thread in miscellaneous.
