So Eli1 and I were discussing the possibility of a thread on art. Not religious art, that thread already exists and not art by AI cause there is a thread on that. But art for art's sake: fine art, commercial art, different mediums, supports, technique, whatever and photography too. If you enjoy the world of art or just want to talk about it or post art or photography, this could be your thread.

So, .........................................................1769205819199.jpeg including photography

Thank you for creating this topic.

I would like to follow with Banksy that I mentioned earlier. He is an anonymous street artist known for politically charged messages as well as other messages about life and the ironies of the modern world.
The fact that he remains anonymous is one of the reasons I like him. He is totally against the grain with this mindset. An anonymous artist who doesn’t want fame or money from his work and just wants his work to be shown without taking any credit. This goes so hard against the modern world in itself (and DEI) which is something that I find captivating and intriguing.

Some say that they know who he is (from England) but the fact that he doesn’t come forward to claim his fame is something that I find fascinating.

Let’s look at some of his work.

This one here i find interesting for a few reasons. This can be illustrating the idiom "sweep or hide your dirty deeds under the rug" or it can also be interpreted as 'another vail behind reality' - sort of like the scene from the Wizard of Oz. There's more i can say here but i'll leave it at that.

This one here is a classic. I call this "we have plans and then God has plans". I'll leave it at that too because there's more to say about this one too.

This is another great work. Instead of throwing a Molotov cocktail, he's throwing flowers. A beautiful message of peace in an angry world. I'm sure there's more to say here too.

This one speaks of tragedies of war where innocents die from egos of men.

This one is hilarious in portraying "love" in the modern world. I mean he captured the addiction 100%.

That's all i got for now. I hope to remember more interesting art that i've seen during my life. I generally am fascinated by museums when i look at the old relics too and in that other church-art thread i got to see and touch some silver and gold crosses from (around) year 1300.

Anyway, carry on with any artful inspirations which may lead to more different works.

Thank you.

Yes Art Works to draw our attention.
And Banksy is like the Scarlett pimpernel around here. He strikes after dark, but leaves a lasting impression. We have a Banksy image near me. He goes around reminding people of whats important now. This image was done was 3 years ago at christmas time. It gives me shivers because in this day and age, it could happen to anyone.

I have a giant art collection of works of art that I've done since the age of 6, all photocopied to the devices I'm using. Maybe I'll post some here. For now, I'll post this stained glass looking chow I did for my old roommate back in 2009

This is my first day here. I've participated in photo and photo editing forums, so naturally I found this thread. I like to take my photos and turn them into comics or memes. These are two of the first selfies I ever took.

Again not my photo. I really like the kind of minimalistic foreground with the stream leading the eye into the stand of trees
with the mist and sun. I think it's really nicely done.

So here's one of mine from a photoshoot done in winter and yes it was a c c cold day but I like winter. Horse is a Gypsy Vanner and he is being led into a pasture to run around so I could get some 'action' shots too. I always include some b/w but I add a touch of blue to the photo so it doesn't appear too much on the gray scale. :)

What a cool stream of water. So minimalistic, yet gorgeous.

Yeah I thought so. It's like this kind of photo gives you room to 'think'. And I really liked the way the photographer led your eye right up into the trees with the stream a little off to the side. I am a proponent of offset or off center.

That is an excellent photo. I love how you can fully recognize it's a horse, almost looking at you in the corner of its eye. What a beautiful horse.

You probably had to have had to wear some snow gear.

I like how the pictures you've been posting are winter-themed.

I can see why this impressed you. It has the elements I notice the most. Up close interest and lines that draw your eye to the main subject. With that negative space that doesn't need detail.

I looked up the Gypsy Vanner because I first thought Appaloosa or Pinto... gorgeous animal!

This was my friend Samara, with whom I lost contact. This painting was my final project in my beginner's painting class in community college.

I think it's interesting that with such little detail you made her so recognizable. Very Nice
