Are you slow or hurried to anger?
See what happens to those who are hasty to wrath:
• Pro 14:29 -> “He who is slow to wrath is of great understanding, but he *who is hasty of spirit exalts folly*.”.
• Ecc 7:9 -> “Do not be hasty in your spirit to be angry; for *anger rests in the bosom of fools*.”.
• Pro 15:18 -> “A wrathful man *stirs up fighting*, but one slow to anger calms fighting.”.
• Pro 14:17 -> “He who is soon angry *acts foolishly*, and a man of wicked plots is hated.”.
It isn’t in vain that the Holy Scripture exalts the importance of ruling over our own spirit:
• Pro 25:28 -> “He who has no rule over his own spirit is like a broken down city without a wall.”.
• Pro 16:32 -> “He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit is better than he who takes a city.”.
Thus, if someone made something against us:
• Pro 25:8 -> “do not hastily bring into court, for what will you do in the end, when your neighbor puts you to shame?”.
Don’t learn the methods of the wicked to sort out the problems, because you will be tempted to put them into practice and bring the Creator’s anger against you (1Pe 3:8-12):
• Pro 22:24,25 -> “Make no friendship with an angry man; and you shall not go up with a man of fury, lest you learn his ways and get a snare to your soul.”.
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. For the wrath of man does not work out the righteousness of God.” (Jas 1:19,20).
Once the wisdom that is from above is pure, peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy (James 3:17), the best thing to do is rest and bide in Jesus (Ps 37:7) until He shows that He is god (Ps 46:10).
Have a great day following Jesus’ example:
• 1Pe 2:21-23 -> “…For Christ also suffered on our behalf, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps, He who did no sin, nor was guile found in His mouth, who when He was reviled did not revile in return. When He suffered, He did not threaten, but gave Himself up to Him who judges righteously.”.
