Are you of the World? Maybe a little?

We are saved, not by what we do but our faith in the Lord. But it is impossible to live by the values of the world instead of the values of our Savior and keep our faith pure.
Scripture gives us an example of what happens to God's children when they live and work in the pagans when it tells us of them living in Babylon, then how they were when they returned to Jerusalem. They had to be taught God's ways all over again.

In the 5th chapter of Matthew, Christ tells us the he didn't change any of the OT, but then he tells us how he fulfilled it. The OT told of God in fleshly terms, Christ explained the spiri of the Lord that flesh symbolized.

We are living in Babylon. Almost everything we see and use is made by man. Our food is almost all processed, eating food as God meant it to be is very expensive. Concrete has replaced grass. Newspapers have very little of the Lord, they are filled with sports as strangers to us play, and how the stars guide us instead of the Lord. Television trains our children, and we train them with nursery Rymes, not scripture. Our literature is filled sinful sex and murder.

Someone cannot claim to be saved and continue to walk in worldliness; it's completely impossible no matter what man-made theories and ideas claim. Let the Word of God be your guide instead. God bless.

Are you of the World? Do you have one foot in the world and one in Christianity? If so, the love of the Father is not in you — and you cannot get to Heaven that way. A lot of Christians struggle with sin because they never leave the world behind. You must be separated unto the gospel of Jesus Christ to inherit eternal life. We are in this world, but not of this world. Sure, we have to work and handle the affairs of this life, but are you wrapped up in the cares of this life?

1 John 2
[15] Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
[16] For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
[17] And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. — (KJV)

"the love of the Father is not in him" doesn't mean "not saved". This passage is an admonition to saved and eternally secure people.

And the Bible shows us what this means in practical terms. reminds me that some Christians believe if you are a Christian & drink alcohol, you have 1 foot in the world & 1 in heaven. NOT SO!!! the Bible doesn't't say anywhere; "do not drink alcohol"! there are, certainly, warnings against alcohol abuse & any kind of abuse. Ephesians 5:18, 19 & 20. if you are drinking alcohol, you better stop the 1st time your spirit tells you!

This is a description of those who have made an outward profession, and even believe that they are saved, but are in fact not saved. So they are totally in the world. Would God and Christ call any genuine believer spiritually "naked", when God clothes us with the robe of imputed righteousness? The same applies to all the other descriptive terms. They do not apply to genuine Christians.

I try to remember that i am not of this world, but because i am in it I often forget. Sometimes i have my mind on the things that are going on around me and my needs and wants and desires, but also have my mind on Christ, sometimes i am consumed by my troubles. That dont take me out of the Kingdom of God. It means i need to remember and get my focus back.

To "say" one is saved means nothing. Anyone with a mouth on the front of their head can do that.
But if someone IS saved, they're saved for eternity whether they give in to worldly lusts or not.

I'll try to bring a crude example, In Britain there are some protesters who protest against the use of fossil fuel and they end up holding up traffic for a very long time and some glue themselves to the road so that removing them from the road becomes problematic

Same thing with Christians, if you glue yourself to this world, the love of God is not in you ...do not love the love the world

This isn't about me, or anyone else, but the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So, why is it that you ask me, "I'm curious, please tell me. Do you still sin?" instead of seeking the Lord in prayers and fastings about the question "can we knowingly walk in sin and still be saved"? For me, I got the answer years ago, and so I don't knowingly walk in sin just as the Scriptures teach. Nothing defiled will enter the Kingdom of God. Am I perfect? No, but being perfect and knowingly sinning are separate issues.
