i don't like cats because they usually just lie around the house and they fight with my dogs 🤣🤣🤣

I have cats. They are actually sweet and playful, too, but yes they do sleep a lot. Cat personalities cover a broad spectrum though so you never really know how a kitten will turn out as an adult.

Typical cat behavior is to sleep about 18 hours per day so it's just their nature. That works well for me because I don't need them to contribute anything other than their company and enjoy the ride.

Dogs are needy, importunate, attention-seeking critters. Cats are largely self contained and have their own business to attend to.

Dogs will eat as long as there is food in the bowl. Most cats will eat until they are full.

Dogs will do anything you tell them with no shame. Cats are too dignified for that nonsense.

Dogs are often clumsy and have no grace at all. Cats are dignified and agile.

Dogs begin stinking if you do not wash them regularly. Cats are self-cleaning.

In short, cats rule, dogs drool!

Are you a dog person or cat person and why?

Yes; because they are furry and (generally) friendly.

However, a (fully grown) dog must weigh more than 20 pounds. Anything less than that is an abomination.

Dog person all the way. While I admire felines out in the wild, if it is allergy season, cats can make me a little sniffly. A dog is so straightforward. You know where you stand with a dog. Mine is loving and funny and used to occasionally stand on her hind legs and look like an ewok. I don't have to worry about litter box smells, her walking on kitchen counters or getting stabbed with claws. Bella is warm, affectionate and always up for a walk. Hooray for dogs!

No brainer... Cats are diabolical and can't be trusted; while Dog's are Man's best friend...

Even though I am a dog person, and currently have two males dogs, I also do like cats. We had a female cat and growing up and she was the best huntress.

Dogs. I'm going to get one, just as soon as I get a house with some outside space to keep it. Because dogs are the best, but I want my doggie to be a happy doggie (and I've been watching those dog training shows where the dog training expert has to come in because the poorly cared for dog is becoming unmanageable).

Cats also have been known to make me sneeze and snot with minimal exposure, but even without that inconvenience dogs are better companions.

Cats because they're easier to take care of. And like Lynx said, they're more independent and don't require as much attention as dogs do.

So cats for me. :)

I love them both and cannot decide! lol I like that dogs don't shed as much as cats do...at least the ones that I've had. But I definitely don't like their neediness. Cats are fine if you leave them alone and sometimes I really like that! lol

Definitely dogs!

In my experience dogs are more of a friend, while cats are indifferent (generally).

You can't really go out in the backyard and wrestle with a cat.

I like cats.
Well, most cats.
I've had a cat and wouldnt be opposed to another, but I'm on Team Dog.

I can't recall meeting a dog I didnt like. ❤

Cats though...some are pure evil. 😈

I love dog and cats for different reasons, but I think if I had a choice I’d definitely get a cat. Dogs may be happy go lucky and affectionate, but with cats you feel a bit more high maintenance attention wise. They are DESPERATE for your love and attention, it’s fine but sometimes they can be a little unintentionally smothering. Cats choose you, and so that affection feels happily earned.

I think I’m biased also because my first pets were cats. And also THE SOUND OF PURRING IS THE SWEETEST THING EVER.

Once you have petted a cat, who cares about beating up the dog in the backyard. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
