hello, I have been taught through the scriptures and through pastors that Christian women are not to preach over men, but I was wondering if, in the case of raising children, if they are allowed to teach their sons the scriptures as well as their daughters, or if they should leave it up to their husbands to teach their sons, or if she is single or divorced or widowed, a male mentor from the Church ? I have been searching through the scriptures and been having trouble finding a definite answer

Scripture as far as I know only states that men tech in the Church, but I don’t recall anything stating women cannot teach to their family.

I don't find anything in Scripture that forbids a woman from teaching the Word to her son(s), or stating that it's a sin to do so. The point in Scripture is that a woman should not exercise authority over (or usurp authority from) a man in that context. Such a prohibition with regard to sons would suggest that, by virtue of them being male, they have some kind of authority over their moms by virtue of them being female. Which is absurd on its face.

Actually there is an incident in Bible where a woman mentored a great man Apollo. Refer to the verse:
And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and *Priscilla* had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
Acts 18:26 KJV (kindly note they took him to their place when correcting his preachings they didn't correct him in synagogue but in private.)
So I think nobody ever said woman shouldn't mentor or teach verses to their children at home. If you are truly saved by Lord and savior Jesus Christ then you can guide your child to find the way of truth.

Yes, and in fact, the bible says that it is a mother's duty to raise their children right, which of course includes teaching.

I was introduced to Jesus by my mother. She thought me and laid the foundation of my faith in God. 34 years in this world and I still stand firm in my faith by God's grace. No preacher has ever instilled in me faith in God like my mother has. Both through words and deeds throughout her life. As I grew up now, I have a lot of conflict with my mother and 90% of that conflict I have is because of religion and God and because our world views don't match now and a lot has changed. But I digress.

Leaving spiritual instruction to a pastor or a teacher of the Church is a wise idea. Your children will not completely get everything from you and you can still guide your children. But trust me when I say this. Your child will be a Christian not because of the Church. He or she will follow Christ because of your example. If not you as the parent of your children, who will guide them and show them the way?
The father and mother must show the way for the children. That's the whole point of having kids. So that you can lead them and they will follow your example at least until the time they can think for themselves.

If I were a woman hypothetically, I would give myself all the opportunity to teach my children God's word and how to live a Christ centered life. Because for both men and women, that is one of our primary duties in a Christian home. To show the children Christian values and sharing the good news. It all begins at home. I wish you all the best and may God bless you and your family.

Christian women can teach their sons the scriptures.

A man and a woman can do all things the same for in the Lord there is no difference between a man and a woman.

When the saints come together and hear the word of God and worship God a man should lead the service but after he is done having the floor then the saints can speak and add to the service whether man or woman.

I can't see why not.

Proverbs 22:6
6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Of course they can! Yes, the man is the head of the home, but his wife is an equal partner with him. She is the one who is raising the children, and should be encouraged to teach the scripture at home.
Where people get confused I think, is that concept applies to the church, and not the home.

I've actually met a lot of men in churches who are only there as a social duty, the stay at home wife studies and actually often believes, but he's just there for reasons of face and good name. In that case at home, obviously only she can teach it to a boy, but still, that doesn't sound like it will do much good, since boys especially take after the dad.

? dont think its forbidden, as sons are BOYS and not MEN or husbands yet.

The Bible wasnt doing a male vs female thing, it was about the marital husband-wife relationship, not the mother-son one. Because it did say if the women wanted to know anything she ought to ask her HUSBAND at home. So in the context, it was talking about wives and husbands.

Though obviously it is ideal for dads to teach their sons too and not the sole responisbility of the mother.

As mothers, we have a huge influence on our children and how they will one day turn out. If we do not teach them the truth and the way of life, it is a failure on our part. 1 Timothy 5 speaks about women who bear children and GUIDE the house. Of course, this does not mean that she has authority over her husband, but as for her children, it is her calling to raise them ALL to love God and live for Him. Ephesians 6 speaks about children's behaviour to their parents, and it says that they should honour BOTH father and mother, not just the father.
