I am a transplant from Florida. I miss my seafood, citrus and beaches. I do not miss the rude people, the meth house that sprung up in my neighborhood of 500k homes. I love my little town of 10,000, everyone knows everyone, ppl are Godly and kind. BUT THE SNOW. Anyone else?

I'm a transplant from Florida too having moved to NE Tennessee in November 2020.

Moved from Clearwater after 6 years living there. Lived outside of Orlando too for 20 years. Went from living in a metropolitan area of 3.5 million to a little town of 2000. There are only 5 stoplights and commuting to work is a breeze. More laid back then the 24/7/365 in Florida.

It's also nice to enjoy change of seasons again too. The winters appear to be on the mild side which is fine with me. Had several snowfalls in January but that was the extent of the snow. Probably 20 inches total.

Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

Five stoplights? We're a tiny town and we have eight.

Well... one intersection, but eight separate lights hanging there. Technically that's eight stoplights. :D

Seems to be a lot of people escaping Florida these days...

Yeah, too much congestion and cost of living is high. Plus it is hot and humid 8 months a year.

I like St Louis....
Had a trip there this past spring. It was a blast.
Botanical gardens, The Hill, and the Transportation Museum were my favorites. And I couldn't get enough of the food. Ate like a pig non-stop.
(St Louis is the sausage/salami capital of America)

As someone who is itinerant at heart I'm stuck in TN. It's a pleasant prison but....I still have that trapped feeling.

However....I get furloughs from time to time. A work-release program.

You aren't in a tiny town anymore. That's a city. A real metropolitan center.

I used to live in a town with 3 stop signs and one flashing yellow by the gas station. (Not supposed to stop for those unless you need gas)

That's a tiny town.

Yeah we used to have that one light in the center with a column of lights on four sides. Then we upgraded the intersection.

Still only one intersection with stop lights, but we is done gone hifalutin now!

Did you have the fireworks tent this year? Or did the city make them move it to the outskirts?
If you did....well, you know what that means....

I don't know what that means, but I hope it's not something good... If it is something good, we're missing out. The fireworks tent was up in the parking lot beside the grocery store, like always. Next town over, it was up in the Walmart parking lot, like always.

What does it mean if the tent has to move over the city line?

Pfft! I WISH I was urban. It'd be a lot easier to get things like good cheese, high end electronics, gourmet chocolate...

Sorry Catsandell. We have done derailed your thread. Worse yet, not a one of us is in or from Missouri.

These derails happen sometimes, but we usually run out of steam eventually and get back on track.

So... Anybody in Missouri?

LOL. It’s all good. I’ll settle for Oklahome or Arkansas. us Ozark girls are pretty easy going.

No, John. Not 8 stoplights, but rather hot and humid for 8 months a year. Also, previously I said that there were 5 stoplights in this tiny town. Having thought about it some more I realize now that there are actually 4 stoplights.
