Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is the right area to post (please let me know)

It seems that I am becoming more impatient and angry of late. Let me explain:

At home I am fine, I get annoyed with the wife every now and again but as soon as I get to work, I let small, insignificant things get to me... Waitrons make mistakes and I get annoyed to a point of anger, food takes too long and I get upset etc.. where can I find help for this in the Bible?

You have already confessed to "some of) the brethren, and we are praying for you.

Now, tell our Savior about all of those weaknesses yu believe you are experiencing, ask him to overCOME THEM JUST for you. He will.

When I find myself angry with someone, I first pray fo r ME, then I pray for what I consider a culprit, knowing all along the Lord could be using that person for His own person use....

You will be fine, great even. All blessings in Jesus, Yeshua...j

"Often, on our own, vacant of God's inspiration in our lives, one may experience lack of self-control and discipline,
and which effects ones attitude and behavior...bringing cause of disturbing reactions to life in general."

I am encouraged that you recognize, and taking ownership and that you are seeking His help. I too need His help.

Here is a link to some verses on anger.

I lift you in prayer and God Bless you.

I too am struggling with a similar situation except its backwards...when I'm at work everything is fine, but when I'm at home is the hardest. I get angry listening to music (secular) that once helped relax me. Granted I've been going through a recent breakup and some medical problems. One thing that I notice is when I am laying in bed I listed to a Christian message and/or song and fall asleep and I'm generally okay. If i may suggest trying that to see if that helps. So in your case when you are at work on your lunch break or during those times where you get angry listen to something Christian and see what happens. I hope this helps.

I know there’s a verse that says “be angry but do not sin.” I don’t think being angry is bad but when being filled with anger leads to something bad that we do/take out on others then it’s an obvious problem. And the anger is probably an indicator of something deeper. I would highly suggest talking to a professional about it. Honestly it may be as simple as work stress, or not liking your job. But again my opinion is based on limited info.

Rememeber anger is usually a symptom of another problem, and not the primary issue.
The two most common reasons I see anger issues is either something in your past that you never healed from, or something in our currently lives we won't face/don't see.
Do some introspection and seek out any area that may be problematic for you. It's possible it may be something you want to deny, but don't.
Once located work out a plan to resolve it.
Also sometimes we simply have to make a choice to let go of things. When I was younger I had anger, and realized it was growing into bitterness. I did not want to become bitter so many things that hurt me I had to choose to stop being hurt and angry about in order to prevent things from getting worse.
Another thought I had is expectations on others. My brother is a person with high expectations on others. He worked at a place where it made no sense to have such high expectations, nor was he in a place to change it. He was always angry at work, because of his coworkers. He punched one of those large, metal garbage bins and broke his hand. His expectations did not match his place and position.
Just a few things to think about.

are you a chef?
Just wondering...

if its short order chef then maybe you just need to reorganise or take a breather. sometimes working conditions can be cramped. Have a look at your mise en place and take time to do a proper prep.

Good things do take time.

I would just give it to God, everything is beautiful in its time. Ecceleisastes 3:11

Been sitting and thinking about this and a few things came to mind:

* I am an ex chef, I actually miss the hustle and bustle of a busy service. Planning and organising is my forte, now I'm more front of house, I'm bored

* At the moment, I have some health concerns. Something I can change but reluctant to do so

* It feels like my marriage is falling apart

Maybe it's just all to much to bear alone and I really need God (I seem to be doubting my faith a lot too)

I too am an ex-chef. I get where you’re coming from. When the planning and execution is all under your control your successes and failures are your own. At home or in the dining room there are so many variables are your control. You need to be more versatile and less rigid in approach. Roll with the punches. Where as in the kitchen the finished plate is the focus, most other places it’s the process. The return customers at work, and peace at home are the never ending burden. As I understand the call to service tells something about your personality. The, job well done, and the, “Adda boy” keep you on path with how you are doing, successfully speaking. Be a better manager of self evaluation. Make personal goals to meet, so you have that continual sense of achievement.
