I began a series teaching on Repentance with that very verse -


It is so hard for many in the churches today to believe what the Scripture declares concerning the need for God's people to Repent is they are to inherit the promises of God.

But there is always a truly believing remnant. :)

Revelation 2:5 - Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Proverbs 28:13 - He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh [them] shall have mercy.

Matthew 4:17 - From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Romans 2:4 - Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

The natural man, before he has been born of the Spirit in the new birth will never repent of breaking a spiritual law that he thinks is foolishness. He does not think that he has anything to repent of. (1 cor 2:14).

I did not listen to your video, but your last written statement points out the truth of the matter of repentance. "the scriptures declare that there is a need (for God's people) to repent". God's people have already been born again with a new heart and have had their eternal inheritance secured by Christ's death on the cross. We all still do at times commit sins and lose our fellowship with God because God does not fellowship with sin. When we repent, and God forgives us, we are delivered, saved, from the consequences of the sin and are accepted back in fellowship with God.
 
when we are called to sit with Him at His supper table, then we have a marriage contract -
we accept and know just Who He Is and What His Job is, and what our's is, - we go to Him in loving humility
for the rest of our lives, knowing that He is sitting on the right hand of Yeshua 'interceding for us',
'if we confess our sins', and we know that we will be forgiven because of this Holy inter-action
because of His Loving Grace, created just for us...

It is important for us in the churches today to understand that God has called us to "repent" or we will "perish."
Indeed we have been "saved"; but we must "endure til the end", "walk worthy", "repent" and "overcome" if we are to inherit the promises of God, especially those mentioned in Rev 2 & 3.

The message God has given me to share is not primarily to those in the world whom God has not called at this time, but to those in the churches. For, as Paul wrote, we have "not yet attained." We've begun the Journey; but it is not how we start, but how we finish that matters. And the Apostle wrote to admonish the saints many times to continue on the path, lest they fail to "inherit the Kingdom." In 1Corinthians 10 specifically, he uses the example of Israel being "saved", "baptized", "partaking of Christ" and following God, and warns us that if we fail, as many of them did, we too will "fall."

I know this message I, and others, teach is different from much of what is heard from many pulpits on Sunday morning. But it is what the "whole counsel of God" teaches, and is in line with the words of Christ and the Apostles. My desire is for Truth, and nothing less.The promise of the "new birth" is real indeed, but we must nourish that Seed that was given us when we first believed, otherwise it will wither and die and we will be found "without oil" in that Day when the Bridegroom returns.

My prayer is to be among those who are ready when He in manifest.

God's Wisdom and Understanding to all.

You are on the right track. The inspired word is written to those who have been born again and can discern the things of the Spirit, unlike the natural man as described in 1 Cor 2:14. That is why Jesus instructed his Apostles to go and preach to the lost sheep of the house of Israel (Jacob as Israel) God changed Jacob's name to be called Israel (Gen 33:28).

I believe that you and I have a different view of "once eternally saved always saved".

Question, can a born again believer who has the Holy Spirit not be spiritual but carnal?
 
1JOHN 1:5.
This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you,
that God is Light, and in Him is 'NO 'darkness at all'.
6.
If we say that we have fellowship with Him and walk in darkness, 'we lie', and do not the truth:
7.
But if we 'walk in The light', as 'He is in the light', we have fellowship one with another,
and 'the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin'.
8.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the Truth is NOT IN US.
9.
If we CONFESS our 'sins', He is Faithful and Just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.

Thank You Jesus, for Your Holy Interceding for us in the Name of Your Holy Father,

Indeed, we have been "saved" from bondage to sin, and have begun our Journey.

As an old prophet often correctly said... "It's not how we start, but how we finish, that matters."

Are we "Working out our salvation with fear and trembling"? Will we "endure til the end"?

Are we walking in "obedience" that we may receive that "eternal salvation" that is granted to "all who obey Him" ? (Heb 5:9)

If indeed we are found worthy to receive that "eternal salvation" we will have partaken in the First Resurrection, and yes, I agree... at that point, it can never be lost! For those precious few have overcome, truly "come after" Jesus, and been "conformed into His image" and are now "seated with Him on His Throne, ruling over the nations" of them that were "saved" but did not overcome.

Amen. Glory to God for His great plan and purpose for Creation!
