Ditto. But the question will remain: Where will the line be drawn between the ocean and the shore?
I love metaphors. I like them more when I understand them. Care to elaborate?

I don't go to the beach. Too sandy. So I don't care where that line is.

Markwayne Mullin has me biased. Only guy in congress that identifies as a Assemblies Of God Pentecostal, plus he is against abortion and transgender athletes competing in women events. He's also not 80

I think it was Biden. I don’t really pay attention to politics anymore…no one really knows who will win. Ultimately Jesus is king. So if you are following a human, you’re most likely idolizing them.

While there are people on both sides that tend to idolize their chosen "leader", simply following along with the political process, and being vested in a particular outcome, is not "idolizing"
But your point has validity.

And if the Marxists become king, we may wish to join Jesus in his heavenly kingdom ASAP.

Politics involves compromise. For example, our current economic policies are a compromise between capitalism and socialism. However, it is getting more and more difficult for most of us to find common ground with those who want open borders, transgendering, high inflation and otherwise the ruination of this nation.

I agree. We used to agree about what needed to be done, but disagreed about the implementation. Now we can't even agree on what should be done.

Vance will be in excellent position if the next 4 years go as Trump's previous 4. Hope they see the need to continue to broaden the GOP tent and welcome in more minorities.
Welcoming more minorities is key.

Tim Scott for the good boy type Republican, Byron Donalds for the grittier more new Republican like Trump. If Trump wins he ought to elevate them both, I wanna see them get tested further, there is a good case for either one of them to become the first real black American President that is actually an ADOS. I like Tim better cause I think he's more Christian and he's more stable and has like long and big experience being a Senator, but Byron be cold man, he's a fighter and more of a better more like Trump is in terms of speaking and energy personality. Don't be like the democrats and go for DEI crap, like these two deserve a bigger shot on their own merits, they are presidential tier candidates to keep an eye on regardless of race.

Tim Scott was my first choice for Trump to pick as his running mate.

well... as stated.... Vance would be in really good position to continue... he's quite a bit more palatable, personality wise, and he will have had the benefit of 4 years of "tutelage", if you will.

I would love to see him choose Sarah Huckabee Sanders as VP.... she is, in my opinion, cut from the same cloth as Margaret Thatcher... very intelligent, astute, and no nonsense....
Sound choice for sure. Win or lose JD Vance benefits from the media exposure.

Likewise, he was my guess I think in the other topic about Trump. Vance was a big surprise, but I'd say he's proven to be a good pick with the VP debate and the campaign, he definitely shouldn't be ruled out just because he's white, he's proven to be a very sort of high energy rising star in his own right. 2028 primaries will be interesting granting that we can save democracy and get Trump and actually have real elections agains.

Trump will be well into his 80’s. I’m not sure a long Trump candidacy will work out. If he wins, what republican do you see next in line? Vance? Or someone else?
i wouldn't mind being president. for starters: everyone who can see, hear, smell, taste, touch, reason, solve, think, & understand will have to work. ONLY PEOPLE WITH HANDICAPS & DISABILITIES GET GOVERNMENT HELP. (2nd Thessolonians 3:10). if a politician lies, he or she is barred for life from serving in government. no perks or extras of any kind for politicians. no foreign dependency: our own oil, manufacturing, clothing, our own everything & no military assistance for anyone that has broken a previous contract, who has started a war with us at anytime & no warnings on where we are going to bomb or strike. the last is like a boxer saying, "i'm going to jab your right jaw", then he throws a punch!

Well, if something happens to Trump, it'll be Vance. If something happens to Vance, it'll be the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson. If you're talking about who will be the next Republican presidential candidate in 2028, who knows.

If it's a matter of who would I like to see and who would I vote for, I don't really care; as long as they have maturity, intelligence, and a proven record of working well with others. That's asking a lot these days.

Yeah, no, we can't get that. That's like asking for a pair of pants that won't wear out in a month and a half. :p

The official United States policy regarding the use of nuclear weapons is to 'fire without warning'. Another facet of that policy is MAD, otherwise known as Mutual Assured Destruction. It has been MAD which has deterred the nuclear powers on the use of their weapons.

we should bomb long distance more. so when these skirmishes pop up here & there, we move our troops to said area, enemy knows it, time passes by & the enemy is waiting, there's no surprise.
