The word teaches "Obey my voice". Calvingnostics teach that anything a believer does in obedience to God's voice is a work attempting to earn salvation, which is just utter nonsense.

It derives from the gnostic beliefs that 1) there was nothing a Christian could do to endanger their salvation; in other words their behavior didn't matter, and 2) Christians are totally unable to do anything good in regards to salvation, so any work they do is a work of the flesh and contrary to grace. Totally demonic ideas. That is why such an effort is made to divorce work from faith and make them appear separate and contrary to one another.

@Wansvic and @ChristRoseFromTheDead — Oneness / Pentecostal theology continues to twist Scripture by blending grace with ritual.

The truth is found in the very Word of God.
Obedience is never dismissed — it’s the fruit of faith, not the means of salvation.
Scripture never pits obedience against grace; it simply puts them in the right order.

Faith produces obedience — it doesn’t depend on it to save.

“We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” — Ephesians 2:10 KJV

That’s not “Calvignosticism” — that’s the gospel Paul preached:

“To him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” — Romans 4:5 KJV

Grace saves. Obedience follows.
Reverse that order, and you lose the gospel altogether.

Grace and peace — always in His Word.

Wow, I guess christianchat condones common profanity and calling people names. Amazing!!! (?) Disgusting!!
Christians are supposed to be in the world but not a part of the world!
Yet I’m the one who is at fault here!!???
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭29‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Mocking someone for objecting to profanity just proves the point.
Scripture is clear:

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying.” — Ephesians 4:29 KJV
It’s not being “prude” to honor God’s Word — it’s being obedient.
Holiness in speech isn’t weakness; it’s evidence of the Spirit’s work.

Grace and peace — always in His Word.

@ChristRoseFromTheDead — you consistently show low regard for the Word of God through profanity and by twisting Scripture to fit a warped theology.
The authority of Scripture doesn’t bend to man-made systems or emotional arguments.
God’s truth stands on its own — pure, clear, and unchanging.

“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.” — Proverbs 30:5 (KJV)

Grace and peace — always in His Word.

@ChristRoseFromTheDead
Calling a brother in Christ “Satan” just for defending the plain Word of God says more about your spirit than mine.
Jesus warned that such accusations would come when truth confronts error:

“Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.” — Matthew 5:11 KJV

I’ll keep standing on Scripture — not insults.
Grace and peace — always in His Word.

I’m pretty sure the offense is on you! What you said is definitely profanity and offensive to God.

“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭29‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
How am I not surprized? The teachings being promoted by their ilk here line up with Oneness / Pentecostal doctrine, which departs from sound biblical Christianity. That system denies the biblical distinction within the Godhead and replaces salvation by grace through faith with ritual and human effort.
It’s not historic Christianity — it’s a distortion of it.

“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” — 2 Timothy 3:5 KJV

Grace and peace — always in His Word.

What I'm teaching — salvation by grace through faith alone, not by works or rituals like baptism — is biblical Christianity, not necessarily Calvinism.
@ChristRoseFromTheDead uses the label Calvinist when it doesn't even apply to what I've been teaching.

Here’s the distinction explained clearly:
What I'm Teaching
I've been emphasizing:
  • Faith precedes baptism (Acts 10:43–47 KJV).
  • Grace saves apart from works (Ephesians 2:8–9 KJV).
  • Obedience and good works follow as fruit, not cause (Ephesians 2:10 KJV).
  • Salvation is secure in Christ, not maintained by ritual.
That’s simply Pauline doctrine — the gospel of grace found throughout the New Testament.
It’s the same truth taught long before John Calvin ever existed.

What Calvinism Teaches

Calvinism is a system of theology summarized by the acronym TULIP:
  1. Total Depravity – Man cannot seek God apart from His enabling grace.
  2. Unconditional Election – God chooses some for salvation without any condition in them.
  3. Limited Atonement – Christ died only for the elect.
  4. Irresistible Grace – The elect cannot resist God’s saving call.
  5. Perseverance of the Saints – The truly saved will persevere to the end.
I can believe salvation is by grace through faith alone without affirming all of that.
In fact, many Bible-believing Christians (like most Baptists, non-denominational evangelicals, or Wesleyan believers) share my view of faith and grace while rejecting Calvinism’s narrower ideas about election and atonement.

Why They Label Me “Calvinist”

People often use “Calvinist” as a lazy label for anyone who teaches salvation by grace alone.
To Oneness or works-based groups, anyone who denies salvation-by-baptism looks “Calvinist” because they can’t separate grace from works.
In reality, I'm preaching the plain New Testament gospelnot a system, but Scripture itself.

Summary:
I'm not promoting Calvinism; I'm upholding what Scripture clearly declares:

“Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.” — Romans 3:28 KJV

Grace alone.
Faith alone.
Christ alone.

I’m not promoting Calvinism — I’m simply preaching what the Bible says about salvation by grace through faith alone.
Faith precedes baptism, grace saves apart from works, and obedience follows as the fruit of salvation — not the cause (Ephesians 2:8-10 KJV; Acts 10:43-47 KJV).
That’s not a system — that’s Scripture.

People who mix works with grace often call anyone teaching faith alone a “Calvinist,” but Paul taught the same truth long before Calvin was born:

“Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.” — Romans 3:28 KJV

Grace alone. Faith alone. Christ alone.

You're such a liar. I never called anyone satan. But that's your style to twist the truth in order to malign.

The work of God gets accomplished. The believer does no work whatsoever. If God mandated it, how can you call it nothing. It's God's work of righteousness, not man's.
It's you basically calling it a nothing by saying it's not a work. Water baptism was ordained by God but God still does not physically water baptize us. Man accomplishes that physical work.

This is just careful crafted Calvinese to exclude obedience to God's voice as a requirement for salvation
That post is a clear indicator of Oneness / Pentecostal theology, especially the branch often called Apostolic or Jesus’ Name doctrine (e.g., United Pentecostal Church International — UPCI).

Obedience to God’s voice is absolutely required — as the evidence of faith, not the condition for receiving salvation.
Scripture never teaches obedience produces salvation; it teaches salvation produces obedience.

“We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works.” — Ephesians 2:10 KJV
“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” — Philippians 2:13 KJV

That’s not “Calvinese”; that’s plain Scripture.
Faith precedes obedience, but true faith always obeys — in that order.
When obedience becomes a requirement for grace, grace ceases to be grace (Romans 11:6 KJV).

Grace and peace — always in His Word.

But the one being baptized doesn't do anything, so it's not a work he is doing

Such deceitful language. I nor anyone else has said obedience is the condition for receiving salvation, ie, being justified by the blood of Christ, other than the obedience of faith. But you know that and carefully choose your works to paint a picture different from reality

These false teachers led the believers astray. Their faith was overthrown, nevertheless, they were sealed by the Holy Spirit. They are in Christ. Once in Christ, you stay in Christ. The Lord knows who are his even when we go astray.

2 Timothy 2:
17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

That’s not deceitful language at all — it’s the biblical distinction Paul himself made.
The “obedience of faith” (Romans 1:5 KJV) describes faith responding to God’s grace, not earning it.
Our justification is by the blood of Christ through faith alone, and that faith naturally produces obedience afterward (Ephesians 2:8-10 KJV).

When obedience becomes part of what saves, grace stops being grace (Romans 11:6 KJV).
Faith obeys — but it doesn’t earn.

Grace and peace — always in His Word.

The one being baptized submits to being baptized and walks into the water on their own, free will. Believers are not passive in getting water baptized. It takes cooperation from the one getting baptized and the one doing the baptizing. It's doing something, and it's still a work.
