Hi I'm Abi (well Abigail Grace) I'm a born again Christian who to coin an old term would probably be referred to as a"backslider" now. I've kind of fallen away from fellowship with other Christians and let's just say a difference of opinion on certain biblical theology has caused a bit of division over time. I'd really love to try and reconnect with other believers and communicate openly but ultimately to praise and bring glory to The Lord.
Sorry that wasn't so brief lol, hope I can meet some friends here and reconnect better with my faith. 🙏🙏

'Difference in opinions is surely rooted in different personalities and cultures.
One's own relationship with God is important and to "Guard the heart" will
hopefully keep one grounded and not be intimidated by worldly distraction.

Well I'm not so sure about your use of the word "Backslider" in the context you set. Is that the correct term? That word would imply you once believed, but no longer do so. Maybe there is another more accurate term, "Forwardslider". When you no longer have a child's faith but have matured, your beliefs will change. Those who do not understand may use the first term, I have a hunch the second is more accurate.

In any event, welcome to CC and go forward in strength.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Hope you're doing ok. So I was brought up hearing this term with regard to someone who knew the truth but wasn't really living strictly by the "rules", who maybe did some things they shouldn't, weren't living a lifestyle that was very "christian" looking etc etc, not attending church every week. I have definitely never stopped believing, not once, maybe the strength of my faith has wavered but not the fundamental belief in my Lord Jesus Christ, of the Gospel, of his sacrifice and how we can only be made right by him and what he did on the cross.

I have always believed God cheers the loudest for those who wake up bruised and battered but climb back into the game.
