A Double Standard in Christianity?

All of the letters were written to the churches during the first century--so no, it was not written directly to us--however, much of what was true for them then, is true for believers now. Of course if a nonbeliever reads that of course it would not be true for them.

Again the verse I quoted previously says the Holy Spirit reveals the truth to the believer, therefore 1 John 2:20 pertains to ALL believers. At this point, I think it best to end our dialogue. Good evening to you.

If they received the right Jesus they would of never been a part of Mormons and JW's to be in that cult.

It would be unless they received the right Jesus and got out of that cult.

Since we get our doctrine of the Bible primarily from the epistles, I believe that I have a good understanding of Bible doctrine....because I am constantly brushing up on it in my reading time.

The fact that I have an unction from the holy one only means that I understand the truth even better when I read it.

I don't think that the verse means that we know everything in our minds...even Jesus didn't know the day or hour of His return...but it means that in our spirit we are able to discern between truth and error.

If you are willing to listen to the unction that the Lord wants to give to you...I believe that He will show you that what I have preached on this subject (of the thread) is based in the word of God.

My only point is that none of the books of the New Testament (or the Old Testament, for that matter) were written by women.

So, many male apostles did not write books in the Bible. The point is moot.

Because all of the books in the Bible were written by male apostles; and you cannot deny this fact of holy scripture.

Yes; if they received the right Jesus they would very likely have discernment about the teaching of those cults.

However, I consider that there may be some who are not very intelligent who received the right Spirit but for whatever reason attend congregations that are of the cults in question.

In their hearts they would know the truth and would be grieved every time the teaching is presented of Jesus not being God (as with the JW's) or of being a separate Person from God the Father (as with the mormons).

In their personal Bible reading, they would struggle to hold onto the truth that is contradicted by their teachers; because in their hearts they would know the truth and there would be suffering in them because their mind does not align with what is in their heart as their teachers contradict the truth that is in their hearts.

Their heart would only be satisfied in their minds knowing the truth; so they would continue to be Bereans (Acts 17:10-11) concerning what they are taught and would eventually have the courage to leave the cult that they are in; if not physically, then at the very least mentally and emotionally.

Isn't it practical that the Bible was for all thereafter? Couldn't be directly because we didn't exists. But, knowing God's intent to inform all it is fair for us to consider the extension of God's word as directly to all.
One is on thin ice to conclude that some of God's communications were just for instant recipients and not all thereafter.

Does God discriminate? How many scriptures say that God is no respector of persons?

If women are be able to do these things listed according to scripture, why then is it so hard to accept that women can minister with the same Spirit in all things just as the men?
I don't believe for one moment that God called women into a limited second-class ministry.

Amen, Edify; I wholeheartedly agree. I was just reading this morning in Acts and here is just one more example that women are certainly not second-class citizens. The church continues to grow as the Holy Spirit directs.

And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women … Acts 5:14 (NKJV)

God did wink at ignorance once,but no more.
In the kingdom of God there is neither male nor female.
We are his adopted family and he sees us through his son's blood,not our gender!
In this day it cannot be as after WW2 where the man worked outside the home and the woman inside the home.
Two incomes are needed to raise most families.
There are also single mother having to do both outside work and home care of children.
You have got your head in the sand or up your b--- if youre interpretating this as "" Women go be silent"

I hear no arguments, just opinion. Your rally cries through out this OP seem to come from an ideology and not from faith. Your cohort of supporters seem to speak in unison (of one agenda) with no sprinkling of personality or logic. You are an ideologue, peddling a secular idea.

Not sure what you are saying... but I agree it is 100% their translation.
The ESV, NRSV and Reverse Interlinear are not the consensus translation. Why trust the 3 over the rest? The most obvious conclusion is that it is self-serving.
