Get out of your tiny world and help someone cross the street. Be a volunteer - deliver meals to the homeless..... work at a grocery store and help bag someone's groceries. Get a hobby.
Connect with others in your world, then connect on the internet.
Go help someone! You are loved! Now, go love someone else. Lose all sight of yourself - begin to see the others in the world around you.......

I agree with you. If he just got in the game and did a small thing that would give him confidence to do larger things, improve his self-esteem and boost his confidence. You are right, we all have our role to play. You offered very wise counsel this hurting member of the team.

The idea behind self-esteem is esteem behind whom Christ is in us - molding us to be more Christ-like and Child-like in our faith. Sometimes hurt is what God allows to give birth to freedom in Him in its completeness and fullness. It is about being properly aligned with God that gives way to proper answers for this hurting team member - thus, all the advice given thus far is encouraging in that line of thinking. Laffassured your advice was spot on as well ... thank you for letting God use you in that capacity. We all pray it is encouraging in light of lifting dpecheur10 up in Christ. May His pain become his gain as he walks thru the wall with God showing him more of Himself.

On a weirdly random note,(years ago)I went to a Christian treatment center call Cornerstone. While there, a former biker called me honey, and kissed me once.
So much for that deal. :/ She got it home and realized it was a Toastmaster.. She said she wants a Kitchenaid. The cheapest Kitchenaid is $189-plus dollars. 
So I gave her money back to her. It boggles my mind that she wants a brand new Kitchenaid, when this Toastmaster is IDENTICAL and does the same thing the Kitchenaid... Oh well, she'll part with upwards of $200 for a brand new one, in lieu of a brand new $40 one that does the same thing.. lol
I should've just told her that I'm sorry, but all sales are final.. lol
