For anyone out in internet land, this was released in 1983 and was about the lead singers' disfunctional family lives.
They devoted one album to the pain of each and express a lot of empathy for this genre.
Anyhow, in spite of that, I found it fun to sing because it offers a wide range. I love going up and down the octaves; grew up singing and will keep on singing.

I might be wrong but vaguely remember reading about this being a Grammy award for R&B in 1984. I've seen breakdancing to it.
Probably the strangest dancing anyone has ever seen. You would have but doubt the gen Z have.
I got a stern look from one of the other teachers at my school and asked to respect the incoming Capoera teacher when I asked if he was a BreakDancer. A lot of capoera has floor moves with shoulder spins and looks just like Breakdancing.

But... despite all of this music we like, we also need to remember that in Heaven, we'll likely not be listening to most or all of this stuff.
I think of my favorite TV shows from the 60s to the 90s... and I cannot imagine they'll be watched during the Millennial reign, never mind afterwards. Yeah, it'll be Heaven, but from my current POV, it bugs me.
I also think about my favorite actors/actresses who have passed on, or how they're so old now that you know they don't have much time left. Joyce Randolph died recently. I'd been praying for her soul. I pray for Barbara Eden, Bob Newhart, Dick Van Dyke, and William Shatner, all in their 90s. I pray for Tina Louise, Ted Danson, Shelly Long, Julie Newmar, who are still alive also. I hope, but I am worried I will not, see Tony Randall and Jack Klugman in Heaven. I've prayed for Depeche Mode. One of theirs died recently, and only God knows where he is now.

I like some songs/ bands from decades back to the 1700s, but the 80s as a whole has some of my favorites.

My first musical love is new wave / post-punk. But, I also like the Moody Blues, belly dance music and movie scores.
I think we mentioned a few months ago, that this music brings us back to our childhoods and a time of innocence and nostalgia.
Not to mention that we were so blessed to live during the best time of music and movies.
Heaven is beyond this and i've had some vivid dreams in my life and in one of them i saw the Tree of Life and the energy that you get in your soul and body from that experience cannot be put into words or music.
I know what you mean. There are times I prayed with tears that people I'll never meet here will get saved. Perhaps someone will send good soul winners to their doors with the gospel if we plead to the Father for them.
I went to a Ted Nugent concert to get the gospel to him. I couldn't make it past security or the fences, so I took the letter I wrote, put his name on the envelope and tossed it over the fence onto the stage. I didn't want to tell anyone that, but to encourage yourself and others to be creative. Beg God for opportunities and for others to reach those we may never see again. You get to learn a little about an author, newscasters, celebrities and they become more familiar and want to lead them to Christ. I don't want them to go to hell, but see them in eternity.
I got the Moody Blues . I think it's the best of compilation. They had some more mellow music but powerful poetic lyrics.
