My marriage certificate number is 666. Is it something to worry about or am I being too superstitious? I ask that because I have been married for a long time and my entire marriage seem to be a battle I am still fighting to survive in. What do you think?

That you're being absolutely silly. It's only a number and ALL marriages have rough patches.

This part is more important, please be more detailed if you can, about fighting to survive it

This part shouldn't matter unless of you believe in something like Feng suei

It means nothing at all. It's just a number and will inevitably pop up in life. You can't be "too superstitious" as a Christian because superstition is unbiblical to start with.

It's popped up many times in my life.

I'm pretty sure there is a scripture about not reading omens...I'm looking for it now but it's taking me a while ;)

Will post back with the reference.

Basically I feel like that's what people are doing in a way when they ascribe too much importance to that particular number. If it CLEARLY is having to do with events in revelation that's another matter entirely. In this instance I don't think so.

I mean I've had a bunch of crows just randomly descend all around me when I was in a dark thought pattern and then I sort of checked myself and they just flew away...was weird. But, it's just kind of like ok...stop think...move on. I would NOT ascribe any more importance to it. I don't really feel like the Lord moves that way.

I'm not married but I have heard some pretty solid things about marriage counseling even when people are strong in their relationship. Seems like a solid idea to have a third perspective.

Oh that is why I couldn't find it. Says it in the ESV Deut 18:10-12 but I was looking in the KJV.

The other version I read out of is the NASB and that's close to ESV so probably where I recalled it from. Anyway...

I dunno. I wouldn't like it. Maybe there is some superstition in me. Ultimately, God has power over even superstitions. But 666 is also the devil's number. Would you like the word "devil" printed on your marriage certificate, or a swastika printed on your birth certificate? To me, this is how I'd see the "666" figure. If I could change it without causing any issues, I would. If I couldn't, I would take it to God in prayer.

I'm also the sort that doesn't even like to receive $6.66 in change. I would purchase an additional item rather than receive the devil's fare. Sort of superstition, I agree. But also, it's a bad number. It reminds me of the devil.

Wow! I like crows. That would've been cool. Nice story. :)

Some believe 666 is actually a mistranslation and the real number of the beast is 616.
