R.I.P Ron Woodbridge, the original lead vocalist of the British music group The Searchers, passed June 19, 2025.
Formed in Liverpool in 1959, and part of the Merseybeat scene, The Searchers flourished during the British
Invasion of the 1960s, with hits including "Sweets for My Sweet", "Love Potion No. 9", "Sugar and Spice",
"Needles and Pins", "Don't Throw Your Love Away", "When You Walk in the Room", "What Have They Done to the
Rain" and "Goodbye My Love." With the Swinging Blue Jeans, the Searchers tied for being the second group from
Liverpool, after the Beatles, to have a hit in the US, when their "Needles and Pins" and the Swinging Blue Jeans'
"Hippy Hippy Shake" both reached the Hot 100 on 7 March 1964." Needles and Pins" is a rock song credited to
American writers Jack Nitzsche and Sonny Bono. Jackie DeShannon recorded it in 1963 and other versions followed.
One of the most successful ones was by The Searchers, whose version reached No. 1 on the UK singles chart in 1964.
R.I.P. Diane Keaton. Diane Keaton (née Hall; January 5, 1946 – October 11, 2025, age 79) was an American actress.
Diane received various accolades throughout her career spanning over five decades, including an Academy Award,
a BAFTA Award, and two Golden Globe Awards, in addition to nominations for two Emmy Awards, and a Tony Award.
She was honoured with the Film Society of Lincoln Center Gala Tribute in 2007 and an AFI Life Achievement Award
in 2017. Her breakthrough role is said to have been in 1972's The Godfather. Annie Hall was released April 20, 1977.
R.I.P. John Lodge (20 July 1943 – 10 October 2025). John was an English musician, singer, and songwriter, best known
as the bass guitarist, co-lead vocalist, and a principal songwriter for the longstanding progressive rock band the
Moody Blues. In 2018, Lodge was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Moody Blues.
Lodge was married to Kirsten from 10 September 1968 until his death. They had two children, Emily and Kristian.
He spoke publicly about being an Evangelical Christian and credited his faith with helping him avoid "the excesses"
of the rock music business. Lodge died on 10 October 2025, at the age of 82. His death was announced by his family
later that day who described it as "sudden and unexpected" and said he was surrounded by loved ones at the time.

Seventh Sojourn, with the other being "I'm Just a Singer (In a Rock and Roll Band)", also written by Lodge.
I still love the Moody Blues; I saw them in concert five times. When I was learning to play guitar in my very
early twenties, it was often a Moody Blues' song I would contribute to jam sessions with friends. Ah, memories...
