that tune & a bunch of others are top notch. i saw him back in 1982 at the Glens Falls Civic Center in New York. he was the 1st artist i saw using a modern PA system without stage amps. he also played a bit over 2 hours which was more than union regulations. a fine show it was.

Thank you Sly Stone for all the great music! R.I.P.

Sly Stone, the revolutionary musician and dynamic showman whose Sly and the Family Stone transformed popular music in
the 1960s and ’70s and beyond with such hits as “Everyday People,” “Stand!” and “Family Affair,” died Monday at age 82 (COPD)

Sylvester Stewart (March 15, 1943 – June 9, 2025), better known by his stage name Sly Stone, was an
American musician, songwriter, and record producer who was most famous for his role as frontman
for Sly and the Family Stone, playing a critical role in the development of funk with his pioneering
fusion of soul, rock, psychedelia, and gospel in the 1960s and 1970s. AllMusic stated that "James
Brown may have invented funk, but Sly Stone perfected it," and credited him with "creating a series
of euphoric yet politically charged records that proved a massive influence on artists of all musical
and cultural backgrounds." Crawdaddy! has credited him as the founder of the "progressive soul" movement.

R.I.P Larry Lee, founding member of of The Ozark Mountain Daredevils, an American rock band
formed in 1972 in Springfield, Missouri. They are most widely known for their singles "If You
Wanna Get to Heaven" in 1974 and "Jackie Blue" in 1975. Passed May 10, 2025, at the age of 78.

Their first record, The Ozark Mountain Daredevils (also referred to as "The Quilt Album"), was released
in December 1973 and spawned the Top 30 hit "If You Wanna Get to Heaven" in the summer of 1974.
The album introduced the band's unique mixture of rock, country, bluegrass and pop to the world
and is still the favorite of many of the group's fans. Bluegrass song "Standing on the Rock" and
hillbilly-influenced "Chicken Train" are recurring live performance fan favorites. I saw them live once!

I saw BOC once also, with Nazareth, Uriah Heep, and Wishbone Ash. Here is another recent loss in rock, a drummer

R.I.P. Clement Anthony Burke (né Bozewski; November 24, 1954 – April 6, 2025). Clem was an American musician best known as the drummer for the band Blondie. He appeared on all of the band's albums with two of the founding members, Debbie Harry and Chris Stein. He was drummer for the Ramones for a brief time in 1987 under the name Elvis Ramone, and played on albums by other artists, including Eurythmics, Bob Dylan and Iggy Pop. This was a staple fave for me in my years of karaoke... :D

I believe I gave the 45RPM single of this song to my twin brother at Christmas the year it came out .:)

From 1962 to 1979, Wilson wrote or co-wrote over two dozen U.S. Top 40 hits for the Beach Boys, with
eleven reaching the top 10, including the number-ones "I Get Around" (1964), "Help Me, Rhonda" (1965),
and "Good Vibrations" (1966).Three more that he produced, but did not write, were the band's "Barbara Ann"
(number 2) in 1965, "Sloop John B" (number 3) in 1966, and "Rock and Roll Music" (number 5) in 1976. Among
his other top 10 hits, Wilson co-wrote Jan and Dean's "Surf City" (the first chart-topping surf song) and
"Dead Man's Curve" (number 8) in 1963, and the Hondells' "Little Honda" (number 9) in 1964.

Ah! I just spoke with my brother on the phone and we reminisced about music for
a while, and he told me that "Good Vibrations" was the first record he ever had!
He even remembered that I had put it in a box with a rock LOL
