“Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.”
‭‭Jude‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬-‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Thankful I take no joy in disparaging a brother in Christ, wish all were so inclined.
Anything you and I have done is equal to anything anyone else has done, all our sins are repugnant to Him. God doesn't grade on the curve.
Hope and pray we all stay in repentance.
best wishes

I dont think anyone here enjoys "disparaging " one another, and I believe its a reckless thing to accuse someone of. I and possibly this user, is simply trying to state that accountability in the church is lacking, and this is a great example of why.

A brother in Christ that takes on a leadership role in some sense among the body, then he gets involved in sexual misconduct. He abuses his role and takes advantage of it to gain sexual gratification, he is not worthy of such a role again. Think Chad Bird, who is no longer a pastor, nor will he ever be. I still enjoy Chad bird, hes a faithful Christian most definitely, and he has repented. Hes a brother in Christ but his role in the body has now changed due to his own actions.

Now rather than saying "hmm, this man did bad things with the authority handed to him, maybe he shouldn't have that same authority again, you seemingly say in your head "were all imperfect, you guys are just bad people who want to pick on others within the body and discredit them for little reason, I like this guy therefore he is good and should be forgiven". This mindset allows abuse to continue within the body.

There's a difference. We aren't public teachers, or ministers, or pastors. We arent leaders. And even as normal people, we need accountability as well.

The Bible defines what roles/behaviors one must match in order to qualify as a Pastor, or Deacon. I would go as far as to say most of these qualities should extend into most other leadership roles involving teaching.

He would be disqualified from his current role due to sexual misconduct.

Which I wouldnt say disown him as a brother if he repents, but I would say to deplatform him from his current role if he is still teaching Online/on TV.

We disagree here Brother, but youre still family, and I mean not to be harsh. I hope this all can be taken well:)

The law of sin works through the law of Moses, but Paul clearly said those baptized into Christ's death are dead to the law of Moses, as he was.
In Romans 7-8, Paul said that the Law of God is good, that he wanted to do good, that he delighted in obeying it, and that he served it with his mind in contrast with the law of sin, which was working within his members in order to cause him not to do the good that he wanted to do, which was waging war against the law of his mind, which he served with his flesh, which held him captive, and which the Law of the Spirit has freed us from. Moreover, Paul contrasted those who walk in the Spirit with those who have minds set on the flesh who are enemies of God who refuse to submit to the Law of God. The Law of God leads us to do what is holy, righteous, and good (Romans 7:12) while the law of sin leads us in the opposite direction by stirring up sinful passions in order to bear fruit unto death (Romans 7:5). So verses that refer something that would be absurd for Paul to delight in doing like Romans 7:5 should not be interpreted as referring to the Law of God while verses that refer to a law that is sinful, that causes sin to increase, or that hinders us from obeying the Law of God should be interpreted as referring to the law of sin.

In Romans 6:1-13, Paul was contrasting these directions by speaking in favor of obeying the Law of God and against sin. We are not to sin that grace might abound and we have died to sin so should no longer live in it. We have been buried we Christ by baptism into death order that just as Christ was raised from the seat we too might walk in newness of life. Our old self was crucified with him so that we might no longer be enslaved to sin and free tk lice for God, so we must consider ourselves dead to sin and alive to God. We are not to present ourselves as instruments of unrighteousness but to present ourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life as instruments of righteousness.

The law of sin enslaves us to and is a law where sin had dominion over us while the Law of God is His instructions for how to be instruments of righteousness where righteousness has dominion over us. In Roman 6:14, sin will no longer have dominion over us because we are no longer under the law of sin but are under grace. In Romans 6:15, being ended grace does not mean that we are permitted to sin, so we are still under the Law of God. In Romans 6:16, we are slaves to the one that we obey, either the law of sin, which leads to death, or obedience to the Law of God, which leads to righteousness. We are not longer to present ourselves as slaves to impurity, lawlessness, and sin, but are now to present ourselves as slaves to God and to righteousness leading to sanctification, and the goal of sanctification is eternal life in Christ, which is the gift of God, so being a doer of the Law of God is His gift of eternal life in Christ.

So again, we need to die to the law of sin in order to be free to obey the Law of God, not the other way around. We do not need to die to God’s gift of eternal life in Christ and be set free to do what the Law of God reveals to be sin. Paul should not be interpreted in a way that turns him against doing the good that he wanted to do and delighted in doing.

We will ALL be judged as ministers.
His command was to heal, raise, cast out, preach, etc.

3 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9 But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

Thoughts?

This the line that hit me the hardest.

5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

Why do they deny the power of the Holy Spirit?

What is a form of godliness?
