Should the church preach the gospel?

I get it, but what is the purpose of the local church? Is it not to equip the saints, the believers? If the gospel is being preached every week, the members are not growing up in their faith. They remain babes in Christ.

Should the church preach the gospel?

Yes, maybe the last 5 minutes of the sermon. The gathering is meant to equip the saints to be ambassadors for Jesus Christ. The believers are to go out and preach the gospel. When people are saved, the believers invite them to the local church to start growing up in their faith.

Should the church preach the gospel?

Agreed, out to the public, not necessarily during a local church gathering where most if not everyone is already saved.

Molinism: Is there scripture that supports it?

What is my substance in context? My unformed body in the womb. My members, parts of my body, were made to develop exactly how God inteded. You are reading way more into this passage than what is there. 16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; And in thy book †all my members...

Molinism: Is there scripture that supports it?

True, the bible defines God as perfect in knowledge. Perfect meaning complete, whole, not lacking. If it's knowledge to be known, God knows it. The number of hairs on one's head is knowledge to be known to God. The thoughts and intents of one's heart is knowledge to be known to God.

Molinism: Is there scripture that supports it?

What does God know from the beginning? The End. We do to because we have scripture stating the end.

I use the KJV because I believe it to be the pure words of God preserved in the English language.

Is Anything Not Predestinated by God?

Here is the mind of God according to scripture. If you do this, then I'll take this course of action. But if you do this, then I'll take another course of action. The Lord is never caught off guard or surprised. He knows what course to take that brings out his expected end no matter our...

Is Anything Not Predestinated by God?

Yes, but we should not deviate from the plain, clear reading of scripture. In other words, allow scripture to be as honest and literal as possible unless the context determines otherwise. The words "like" and "as" are key giveaways.

Is Anything Not Predestinated by God?

As long as it's not at odds with the plain reading of scripture. Let God be true and every man a liar.

Is Anything Not Predestinated by God?

In other words, we should not be interpreting scripture privately but take it as it stands. He was using his own private interpretation.

Is Anything Not Predestinated by God?

I know that verse well. God's word is truth. It is specifically talking about God's long-term plans for the nation of Israel. Context matters. I could post many other verses where God repents. Again, the context of the passage matters. Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie...

Is Anything Not Predestinated by God?

God lied about destroying them in forty days to get Nineveh to repent. Is this your view?

Is Anything Not Predestinated by God?

With your view, you are allowing private interpretations.

Is Anything Not Predestinated by God?

There is nothing in chapter 3 that allows us to take it anyway but literally.

Is Anything Not Predestinated by God?

God did not lie in either scenario. He simply changed his mind. If you say that God knew ahead of time that he would change his mind, then you make God a liar. God is not a liar. I simply believe scripture as stated. If scripture does not line up with your theology, then change your...
