    Independent Women

What I am kinda gathering from the responses is that its not so much the independence that men dislike, but rather when women announce it/make a big deal about it? 🤔 Like, be independent but just don't tell anyone? Lol. 😆

    Regeneration/baptism of the holy spirit

It does not contradict. One body, one Spirit, one Salvation. But both the OT and NT regularly make mention of those who were specifically "full of the Spirit": Ephesians 5:18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit. Acts 4:31 And when they had...

    Independent Women

Oh, I did not mean to imply that there are more single middle-aged women than men, I'd guess the numbers are close to equal. I just meant that once ladies hit 40 and are still single, we can either be a dumpster fire or we can be independent. But apparently choosing the independence route makes...

    Independent Women

This was very interesting, especially the part I put in bold. I wonder if, when I guy says "you need a man", he is actually thinking that he needs a woman . Interesting. I think you probably touched on some of the reasons this topic is an issue for me. I'll be reading back through and...

    Independent Women

I actually don't really refer to myself as "independent", partly because most men seem to find the phrase upsetting, and partly because I don't really get the point in announcing that. In this case I am not referring to independence from God, only to "needing" a husband/provider (though I do...

    Regeneration/baptism of the holy spirit

Sooooo...best I can explain it, regeneration would be the Holy Spirit making us a new creation in Christ when we get saved. Being "Baptized" in the Holy Spirit happens when you ask Jesus to do so, it's an extra empowering/overflowing dose but it doesn't make you any more saved. After the initial...

    Regeneration/baptism of the holy spirit

I do know what you are talking about, though a lot of times I have experienced it in a less dramatic fashion. I'm a very practical person and sometimes it just feels like an emboldening, or supernatural knowledge of the right course of action to take. What you described does sound like a good...

Haha yup, it never hurts to get "topped off"! ;):p

    Regeneration/baptism of the holy spirit

I would probably phrase it that way, yes..... or maybe call it a "filling" of the Holy Spirit since I do think that the Spirit regenerates us and starts leading us to some extent when we get saved. But if you want to be "Filled", "immersed" or "baptized" in the Spirit you do need to ask for it...

    Independent Women

Lol y'all ladies be nice to Adstar and any other guy brave enough to post in this thread...... I really am legit confused by this issue and all perspectives are appreciated! Soooo.... if a lady is paying her own bills and solving her own problems, does that mean the "need" would be on an...

Does Jesus and God have a sense of humor?

Hi VJ, I don't know if this example is the kind of thing you are looking for, but I will share it anyway: When I was about 7 years old, a relative told me that he never uses an alarm clock because God always wakes him up at the right time. I thought that was cool, so that night when I said my...

Looking for a Christian boyfriend but cant find any

Hi Nessa! Could you maybe find a church with a Wednesday night youth program that you could attend while still going to your regular church on Sunday mornings? Lots of the kids in our youth program attend other churches on Sunday but they are still welcome at our outings and Wednesday night...

    Regeneration/baptism of the holy spirit

Hi Blain, Acts 8: 14-17 might be helpful to you: 14 Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, 15who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. 16For as yet He had fallen...

    Independent Women

Hey guys, there's something I've been wondering about and thought I'd get some outside perspectives. Lately I keep hearing guys refer to "Independent women" in a very negative way. They mention how unattractive it is and how silly it is for a woman to think she doesn't "need" a man. I get...

    Questions about relationships.

Alright. I'm not telling you what to do, but please consider that information like that could be very upsetting and downright confusing to a child that age. And we don't even know if it's true. Since the husband already knows about the adultery, I'm guessing he has already considered that the...
