The Kerygma - God's Requirement for Salvation

You state what I assume {{Even though some Scriptures such as Romans 1:20 & 2:14-15 indicate it is possible for sinners to perceive the existence of God and His moral nature/will via what is called general revelation, to seek salvation, find faith and thereby be spiritually like Abraham (Romans...

The Kerygma - God's Requirement for Salvation

This thread introduced the often-ignored question, “What is GRFS for those who have never heard of Jesus?”, and in the HOB thread it was noted that this cohort included everyone living B.C. and millions of people who lived A.D. until the invention of the printing press and world-wide travel...

    Hermeneutics: Interpreting Scripture

The #2 post on UGE said this: 1. Man is deceitful (Jer. 17:9), full of evil (Mark 7:21-23), loves darkness rather than light (John 3:19), cannot come to God on his own (John 6:44), 2. does not seek for God (Rom. 3:10-12), is helpless and ungodly (Rom. 5:6), is a slave of sin (Rom. 6:20; John...

Another relevant Scripture I had not focused on even after being reminded of Eze. 33:11 recently, although we must understand "sinneth" in light of NT teaching regarding the possibility of apostasy.

On the contrary, I indicated sympathy for you in post #13,760 in reply to your #13,719, which replied to my #13, 697. I have repeatedly said that I have no excuse for faithlessness because of being brought up from infancy to believe. Sometimes I have been almost jealous of those with more...

    The Teachings of Paul (TOP)

You make a good point regarding the humanity and thus fallibility of Paul, which raises a question: Does being inspired by God mean there are no grains of sand in Scripture?

    Hermeneutics: Interpreting Scripture

Having analyzed the OP on the UGE thread, let us now begin our study of election anew by noting that the term “elect” is used in OT Scripture per Young’s Concordance to translate the Hebrew word “bachir” (in Isaiah 42:1, 45:4, 65:9 & 65:22), and it also is translated as “chosen” (in Psalms 89:3...

    Understanding God’s election

Yes, but God wanted to save persons, not robots. Any nerd can program a robot, but only God can create humans in His image/with MFW, and thus the ability to love or hate--and not just AI imitations of the real thing.

Did Jesus save those who ultimately hated Him?

Okay, if you think something dead and destroyed is with God.

Did Jesus save those who ultimately hated Him?

Both, unless you are okay with God in hell with the goats.

Thanks for those teachings, which I have never put together, finding angelology to be a confusing doctrine, but now I think I am beginning to understand that God's POS includes them too, and the punishment of those who rejected heaven will be the worst, because they more than humans should have...

How does one develop a deeply rooted faith in Jesus?

Yes, and as we LGW our spirit becomes one with the mind of Christ, so that we remain filled with his love and reflect divine love to His world.

    Understanding God’s election

Yes, and after the sifting of souls on earth is complete, the wicked who rejected God/Christ will be destroyed, leaving only the spiritual children of Abraham alive, and the recreation will be heavenly.

    Understanding God’s election

    The reason redemption is not universal is not God's fault per the 7 pearls (1John 4:7-12, Rom. 5:8, Matt. 5:44&48, Gal. 5:6&14, Eph. 3:17b-19, Eph. 5:2, 1Tim. 2:3-4) and the Roman road (Rom. 1:20, 2:7, 3:21-22, 4:16 & 5:8-19).

    Understanding God’s election

The last time I checked Abraham and God's people were defined as humanity. The "all" part is indicated by the 7 pearls (1John 4:7-12, Rom. 5:8, Matt. 5:44&48, Gal. 5:6&14, Eph. 3:17b-19, Eph. 5:2, 1Tim. 2:3-4) and the Roman road: Rom. 1:20, 2:7, 3:21-22, 4:16 & 5:8-19. Hermeneutics: Interpreting Scripture

Continuing with a systematic analysis of the OP in the UGE thread: 6. “… that the purpose of election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls. … So then, it is not of him who wills (to be elected, chosen, and called), nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.” (Romans 9:11-16) God...

Love those slashes in v.9! You raise an interesting point: Perhaps God's POS includes angelic/demonic souls, and so their final destiny also awaits Judgment Day. Hmmm.

    Understanding God’s election

Well, it seems likely that folks like Abraham were/are few and far between before the OT and then the Gospel were/are revealed, but less opportunity to repent and be saved likely means less time in hell for justice to be achieved before annihilation.
