Do you walk past a homeless person and how would a Good Samaritan act living in this age?

That's a great idea. I also think they should not be all "lumped" together as they are not all one group. Sponsorship of each individual person with accommodation would be the first port of call as you can see what these people are like once they get what they need, as a first base attempt at...

Do you walk past a homeless person and how would a Good Samaritan act living in this age?

Yes I agree. That will then show who they are when at least they have safety and sleep so can think straight.

Do you walk past a homeless person and how would a Good Samaritan act living in this age?

How do you tell they don't want responsibility though? Even lack of sleep can drive a person to appear insane, especially after months and years. One guy I heard of who everyone thought was Mentally Ill, wasn't at all, but had a urine infection from lack of water - he was always offered...

Do you walk past a homeless person and how would a Good Samaritan act living in this age?

Sure, its a difficult one to call. But if you gave to the sleeve puller because he was desperate, then you would also have to give to the hustlers who were also exuberant in their ways of getting cash from the public as they must be desperate too. I guess its discerning who is "desperate" and...

let there be a divide among My Word

That is really informative thanks for that. What do you think the Arminian would call Judas? Was he first saved then fell from Grace then or did he never have Grace to start with, even though he was chosen?

Do you walk past a homeless person and how would a Good Samaritan act living in this age?

I pray that never happens to you Jacob g. I reckon lots (most even) of the homeless are just invisible to most of us and are not necessarily begging, but need help. There was a tragic story I heard of a lady who was made homeless but was once well to do, with a beautiful house and home who lost...

Do you walk past a homeless person and how would a Good Samaritan act living in this age?

The pastor doing that sounds like a re-written chapter from Les Misérables. Someone asked me once when we were sitting in a city café, how do you tell the difference between those really in need on the street and the hustlers? There was a guy that had approached us while we were having...

let there be a divide among My Word

Hey Jacob g good question. I don't believe all those in false churches are going to hell, as it would not be true justice as many are misled. I think it depends on what is on their heart at “measuring time” to see who they really are inside as we cannot always tell on the outside. Many who...

Do you walk past a homeless person and how would a Good Samaritan act living in this age?

No I am not talking about the ones that hustle that are obviously doing it for a living as they are way too organised. I am talking about the odd girl in the shop doorway always on her own, the bloke with the guitar who always seems to be on his own, that sort of thing. Those that don't hang in...

Do you walk past a homeless person and how would a Good Samaritan act living in this age?

Sure that's a good way. Trouble is I know a guy who runs a homeless charity - he got sick of it himself as it seems Group 3 seem to give a bad name to the rest. In fact he said a lot of them preferred it on the street although I wonder about whether that's true and he just got fed up.

Do you walk past a homeless person and how would a Good Samaritan act living in this age?

sure I agree with that. There a guy on you tube who gives out socks to homeless people (not group 3) and they seem overwhelmed by simple socks.

Do you walk past a homeless person and how would a Good Samaritan act living in this age?

Sure thing. How do you tell the difference and what is to stop all people using group 3 as a reason not to help the other groups?

Do you walk past a homeless person and how would a Good Samaritan act living in this age?

No there isn't a direct comparison to that, but assuming they do not "beg for a living" out of choice or are not even begging but destitute, what then. Walk past?

Do you walk past a homeless person and how would a Good Samaritan act living in this age?

What do you feel about walking past a homeless person? Action or no action? This has sprung up some debate recently in a very real way within a group where I live. Some of us were trying to re-establish a homeless person who seemed able to accept help and obviously needed it but it provoked...

Is Addiction the Sin of Idolatry, or is it a disease?

So we agree my friend! When Paul says " I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. " And this could also be the case with an addict that hates himself and what he does. The first "step".

Is Addiction the Sin of Idolatry, or is it a disease?

Yes exactly what would they do if AA or other projects didn't exist? Some people don't get help and compassion from the Church, although they really should. It depends if they find compassion there and a real heart to want to change in that person, and they fail and fail again, but we all do in...

Is Addiction the Sin of Idolatry, or is it a disease?

No problem Nat 2019. My point only was that its not an "overnight" thing - even when you have seen the light (as Paul did). “For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.” (Romans 7.19) That can also sound like an addict in a nutshell. A train...

No more is the question, DID YOU HAVE A PREVIOUS ADDICTION AND ARE YOU NOW CLEAN? Otherwise what do you know? That programme has STEPS. Know what STEPs are?

Is Addiction the Sin of Idolatry, or is it a disease?

"I really dont think you understand the complete lifestyle of a drug addict. It seems your just viewing a Situation you have no understanding of. I dont expect you too." Oh yeah? Well on that comment, you know a thousand nothings.

    Hades / The Grave

True so true. "To die — to sleep. To sleep — perchance to dream: ay, there’s the rub! For in that sleep of death what dreams may come?"
