    Why don't u attend a church ?

I believe denominations are a far cry from what Jesus had in mind for his body. All probably have some truth, but if you wanna go deeper it usually cramps their style. That's kinda a blunt way to put it; hopefully it you get what I mean. I attend a little home fellowship group but not an...

How Often Do You Wash Dishes? (Particularly Your Daily Beverage Cup.)

Lol the never-ending problem of dishes! BTW, Seoul, I love the fun threads you've been posting lately. I have a houseful of younger siblings and they take turns doing dishes. I rarely "do the dishes" anymore. (My excuse is, I was their age once and had to do it, now it's their turn. lol) But to...

Woe Is Me!!! How Can I Possibly Escape the MASSIVE HORDES of ALL THESE SUITORS??? (Or Other Persistent People!)

I think I have the problem of being too friendly and therefore encouraging the admirers... my mistake! Many times I'd love to have a friendly relationship with them, but they want more than that. It can be hard to find the sweet spot. There was one guy from central America who I met last year...

How Big is YOUR Sweet Tooth?

I love sweets, especially something creamy with some crunch like cheesecake. But my family is pretty health conscious and I like to reduce the sugar when I bake something. My mom eats a pretty much keto diet because of blood sugar issues, so sometimes I'll make a keto friendly dessert and it's...

Have You Tried Anything New Lately? (Or Are You Planning To?)

Oh something else lol! This morning my sister and I went fishing with my dad in the nearby creek. Although fishing isn't new for me (I grew up in Alabama near the coast and we used to go fishing a lot in the bay), I don't think I've ever gone fishing in a creek. But it was really cool, I caught...

Have You Tried Anything New Lately? (Or Are You Planning To?)

Hey great thread topic! I tried a honey lavender latte at a local coffee shop awhile back and loved it! Now I really enjoy lavender flavored drinks. Before I pretty much only thought of it as a lotion scent or an essential oil. I started sunflowers from seed this year, that's a new one for...

Hi Dylan, I read what you wrote on your about page and was excited to see it looks like you ran into Ron Wyatt's discoveries of biblical places and such. So cool. God's word is definitely true. My feeble advice to you is keep your eyes on Jesus not on others or yourself. He'll lead you. Ask...

Are Any Other Sewers, Crafters, Scrapbookers, and Hobbyists Who Are Sad That JoAnn's Fabric is Closing?

Thanks I'll let check those out later! I've sewn a lot with knits and it can be tricky!

Are Any Other Sewers, Crafters, Scrapbookers, and Hobbyists Who Are Sad That JoAnn's Fabric is Closing?

You mean you use the tissue paper for drafting patterns? At the chicken farms we worked on they had these rolls of tissue paper they would lay out under the water lines cuz apparently the chicks liked the rustling sound and it attracted them to the water. Anyway at the last farm they didn't...

When You Have to Make Substitutions: Tell Us All About The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly!

I've used plain yogurt (usually Greek) many times for sour cream. Beet root powder for pink food coloring. (Also spirulina for green) I love subjects like this cuz I love resourcefulness. I also have some stories of substitutes that haven't worked out so well lol.

Are Any Other Sewers, Crafters, Scrapbookers, and Hobbyists Who Are Sad That JoAnn's Fabric is Closing?

I use patterns but sometimes draft my own. I love designing so for myself I'll often use my pattern for a foundation and create something unique with it. Yes! Notions! Seems I'm often losing something or breaking needles or running low on something so I need the notions section.

Are Any Other Sewers, Crafters, Scrapbookers, and Hobbyists Who Are Sad That JoAnn's Fabric is Closing?

Don't wanna derail here, but makes me think of a story I heard recently of a man in the world 1860s who revolutionized retail by following biblical principals. (And was very successful in the process) John Wanamaker I think his name was.

    Beverages, Ounces of Prevention

So true! I wish more people realized this! Look at the nutrition facts on the back of a sugary drink and do some math. There are 4 grams of sugar in a teaspoon. And many more times it's high fructose corn syrup which is worse than cane or beet sugar. Drinks go to your bloodstream faster...

"Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive..."

I'm curious, @Aaron56, what you believe the answer is? I agree with you and am saddened by the state of the the "church" these days. Should we be pragmatic about it and make the best of one of these churches on every corner? Or should we hold out and be a pure lump unleavened and gather with...

Are Any Other Sewers, Crafters, Scrapbookers, and Hobbyists Who Are Sad That JoAnn's Fabric is Closing?

Yes! It's so sad! I'm an avid seamstress, and although I haven't shopped at Joann's much, it's still sad. Wal-Mart used to have a decent selection but no more! And hobby lobby is kinda sparse too. If you live around Amish and Mennonites you tend to see a lot more mom and pop type fabric...
