    Concerning the gift of tongues

Just be sure that you are not trying to prove your faith by means of a miracle, which is what atheists demand. (MT 12:39, 2CR 5:7)

    Understanding God’s election

No, MFWists think that the sovereign God chooses to work lovingly through souls/saints who seek to learn and to cooperate with His HS. Paul implies this truth every time he urges perseverance.

    Understanding God’s election

Plan B-Z would be for those with more interesting testimonies to share, but I'm still coming to Christ in various ways including via CC.

    Methodist Church here in USA.

Actually, I have changed some of my thinking because of discussion on CC and have mentioned a few times that I made changes or additions to the website accordingly. Currently I am studying the Holy Spirit following the lead of BF and the epistle to the Ephesians following the lead of PT.

    What is a church?

    It is Paul's message (plus EPH 4:5 & 1CR 12:13); don't shoot the messenger!

    What is a church?

Re "By accepting Christ Jesus as Lord does NOT mean you're in Christ at that point. or place you in Christ. There's only one way according to scripture by which you can be "in Christ", and that's by baptism into him.": It is too bad Paul was not aware of that when he wrote EPH 1:3-14...

John 3 and Water Baptism in the Ministry of Jesus Christ

Paul said the only thing that counts is faith followed by love or good works (GL 5:6, EPH 2:20), and Jesus taught that his disciples should love everyone (MT 5:44&48, 22:37-40) Thus, saving faith precedes faithful works. An exception was the thief on the cross. (LK 23:43)

    What is a church?

Yes, I am in Christ and Christ is in me. It is essential to be "in", because it means to be saved. A person gets to be in Christ when they “Accept Christ Jesus as Lord” (as in 2CR 4:5 & CL 2:6). The main points of Christian orthodoxy implicit in this statement can be explained or elaborated as...

Yes, that is my Methodist church's motto.

    Understanding God’s election

Yes, but to most of humanity God was only revealed via creation and conscience, then a few via the OT and then many more via the NT, especially after the invention of the printing press made it possible to purchase a copy.

    Understanding God’s election

My opportunity? I was raised by loving Christian parents, attended Sunday School and worship service at least weekly, always believed in God and Jesus, accepted Jesus publicly by walking the aisle and being WB at age nine, never rebelled, as a teenager my social life revolved around youth...

John 3 and Water Baptism in the Ministry of Jesus Christ

Yes, unity regarding the Gospel is more important than accuracy regarding doctrinal details. (PHP 3:7-16)

Yes, and apostasy is not respectful either.

    Methodist Church here in USA.

Yes, but it seems likely that there are tares among the wheat, so the true KOG includes only those who are loving and striving for Spiritual unity.

    What is a church?

We all are Christians, but it should be evident that your denomination believes WB is necessary for salvation, which contradicts most of Scripture, including NT teachings that souls are saved by faith rather than by works such as WB. Basing belief on historical passages (Acts) more than on...

The Holy Spirit and Salvation !

The latter is implied in PHP 2:13, “For it is God [the HS] who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.” Paul called God’s revelation from the HS “wisdom” and said it was “destined for our glory before time began (in 1CR 2:6-10). The predestination of God’s wise purpose...

John 3 and Water Baptism in the Ministry of Jesus Christ

Re "being saved and being born again. They are not the same thing.": Wow! FYI: Being born again (3:3-8) = believing Jesus is Messiah and being saved to eternal life (3:13-18) I guess what Jesus said to Nick in 3:10-12 applies to you. Hopefully, what Jesus said in 3:19-20 doesn't.

    Systematic Bible Study

EPH 1:18-19a, “I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.” “I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be...

    A KISSed History of Beliefs

    10. Reformation – Even as RC dominated Europe and the Mongol Empire controlled Asia in the mid-13th century, the seeds of renewal of biblical beliefs were being sown by various people and events. In England Roger Bacon advocated for the study of theology to focus on the Bible in the original...

I would prefer to say a sufficient opportunity for all, because I am aware that I was blessed with every opportunity, but others not so much per their testimony.
