Great point. I'm something of an apologist for the Puritans- there are a ton of unflattering myths about them out there from every worldview of our day. But it must be remembered that America was settled by a patchwork of religious groups and there are a host of ramifications to go with that...

Also, I'd really like to know what makes the man a racist or even anti-immigrant. Even if he was, the viable alternatives are a bunch of self-loathing Americans.

Well, it's highly likely the Democratic party will take both houses and the Presidency again. If Trump and the Republican Senate can hold on a bit longer, the chances of there being some far Left domination of the court will drop considerably. That said, the legal profession is so compromised...

I don't want to say this, but I think it's a fabrication. Much of the "Protestant Work Ethic" is owed to the influence of More, Erasmus, and other Christian Humanists had throughout Christendom at the time.
