For those who say we must do this and we must do that to be saved, keep that salvation, all I can say to you is where is your hope, your security?

It's so very simple but like other issues there are those who just have to complicate it.

I'm grateful and thank God everyday for His free gift of salvation. In no way could I ever have done enough on my own to have earned it. No way can I keep it without His eternal seal.

So many new people on here since I took a sabbatical from CC. I guess that's good. Some of the posts, however, are mind boggling.

There is not one soul on this site or in any church/denomination who can possibly keep all commandments, the Law, to ensure their eternal salvation. No not one.

Remaining steadfast does not mean holding onto salvation. Being steadfast equals staying in God Word and growing in order to have an answer when asked, not being mislead by "false doctrine" and holding onto the hope which is our eternal salvation and not being led astray by someone spewing...

Much ado about nothing for those who are determined to believe one has to work and has to be baptized in order for salvation and one has to continue following the Law in order to hold fast to that salvation. Where is the security in that?

OK, if there are those who feel this thread has gone on long enough, simple solution; stop posting under it. Personally, I hope this thread continues as I have learned quite a lot from it. I'll keep responding on it as long as it stays up.

Where is the faith from a believer in the power and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, if someone has to be baptized in order to be saved?

I don't need to prove anything. If you know your bible as well as you say, you can find scripture to back up what I say. There was a thief on the cross who was never baptized, yet he was that very day with Jesus in Paradise. There have been babies not baptized, others who made professions of...

Baptism is an outward sign of an inward change. Christ was baptized as an example. Baptism is not, however, part of the salvation process. Only the power and the seal of the Holy Spirit, after confession and acceptance, are involved in that saving grace.

I believe in the power of God to heal any disease, addiction or whatever but sometimes no matter how much we pray, that just does not happen. What happens to our faith? Do we fold, lose, get weaker or stronger?

While I personally believe the return of Christ may be near, should that be our total focus or should we be busy doing evangelizing, praying, helping those who are lost?
