Is there a Calvinist book that this is quoted in? I’m directing this at the goofballs that are totally hung up on elect, non-elect, and predestination. They call everyone else non-elect and assume they are elect. I’m sure they can predict when Jesus us coming back too :rolleyes:

Well, does Calvinism talk about giving up your life for your friends, praying for the salvation and success of your relatives and co-workers, and fasting for a deeper relationship with God?

Getting back to the OP… Calvinism is complete garbage, but for the sake of discussion: What do you do if you’re a non-elect, or you’re predestined to Hell?

Okay well maybe not faith exactly. Banks are setup where we have faith that strangers will watch our money. Stores are setup with faith that people will pay for there items. Etc Not all men have faith in Jesus.

Actually a good question. Paul says to “not forsake the assembling of yourselves together…” But the fact is that it’s tough to find a church you feel comfortable in, or that is accepting. The best we can do is ask God to open up the right church, and then try some out.

Cmon man, seriously? That’s just a lame excuse to never pray or fast. Where is Calvin mentioned in the Bible. Are you a follower of Calvin or a follower of Jesus?

Sometimes when you’re seeking God and encounter what seems like an attack could just be a spiritual barrier, similar to what pilots experience right nbefore breaking the sound barrier.

Why do we keep hearing so much worry about these labels “elect” and “non-elect”? How is worrying or researching this gonna help with the salvation and success of those that God has laid on your heart, or praying and fasting fir a breakthrough for them? You’re involving yourself in a vain...

Whew, I’m certainly not as humble as i need to be. I can only speak for myself, but my first calling is to prayer and functioning in the spirit to get Godly results in those that God has laid on my heart, and in my circle of influence. And that’s people like family members, friends, coworkers.

Most likely Mark 12:30-31, which basically says love God with heart soul mind strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.

I mean yeah, we all need to pray in tongues more than we do for sure. When people in a church are getting saved, that’s a good marker if a healthy church. Spiritual gifts aid in this.
