Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils?

It’s true they were never saved, although I’m sure they thought they were and claimed to be, but Jesus gives us the answer to why they were not saved in verse 23. They were practicing LAWLESSNESS. That means they were doing many things that were NOT in the law of God. 2 John 9 says that...

Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils?

The answer to why they are being rejected is plain and simple —in verse 23. They were practicing LAWLESSNESS. That means they didn’t have God’s law or authority for what they were practicing. Notice God uses the word “practicing”. It’s about what they were “doing.” Or not doing as the case...

Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils?

. And a good scripture to prove this is 2 John 9 that says if we don’t abide in the doctrine of Christ, we don’t have God. That seems to fit these people.

Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils?

Jesus plainly tells us WHY they are lost in verse 23. It wasn’t because they were lying, and it wasn’t because they were “boasting” about their works, although all if that might have been true— they were condemned because they were not abiding in the law if God. Jesus said they were practicing...

The tree of knowledge of good and evil

You are correct. Over and over again throughout the old testament when anyone disobeyed God, there were consequences to be paid. Isaiah 59:2 specifically says their sins are what separated them from God. It was not about the fruit.

Saul of Tarsus was not saved on the road to Damascus.

I reread the story and, yes, Peter is the one asking him and the rumor started after that. But how Jesus DEALT WITH THAT SITUATION and WHAT HE SAID was the point I was trying to make.

Saul of Tarsus was not saved on the road to Damascus.

I said there was a rumor. ??? I didn’t say how it started. I don’t see a problem. Regardless of how the rumor started or who said, what first, I wonder if you understood the point Jesus was making in relation to the rumor?

Saul of Tarsus was not saved on the road to Damascus.

First, you are trying to use an IMAGIANARY, hypothetical situation to nullify what the scriptures say. How many people do you personally know who on their deathbed wanted to be baptized but couldn’t?? (1) everyone has a Bible and in their lifetime have 1000’s of opportunities to be baptized...

Saul of Tarsus was not saved on the road to Damascus.

If Saul of Tarsus was saved during the 3 days he was praying and fasting, then he was “saved” in his sins; because when Ananias came to him at the end of the 3 days, he told Saul to “Arise, and be baptized and WASH AWAY YOUR SINS.” His sins were not forgiven until he was baptized which...

Saul of Tarsus was not saved on the road to Damascus.

And where does the word of God. SAY that? You expect us to believe it just because you say it? Where is your proof from God?

Saul of Tarsus was not saved on the road to Damascus.

The old Jewish law demanding circumcision was nailed to the cross. Col. 2:14 so, no, under the law of Christ, no one is circumcised, especially babies. If you choose to circumcise today, you do it for some reason other than religion. God says, 1Cor. 7:19 that circumcision is nothing—it doesn’t...

Saul of Tarsus was not saved on the road to Damascus.

Read Acts 8: Read Acts 8:14-17 and you will read about the Samaritans who “received the word” and were baptized and then, the apostles gave them the Spirit by laying their hands on them.. they were saved before they got the spirit ( they believed and were baptized just like Jesus said)...

Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils?

I don’t think the point here is that they were lying or that it’s even about whether or not they could do the things they said. Read verse 23. He tells us WHY they are being rejected. It’s because they are doing things with out “law” or outside of God’s law. Religious people in general do...

Saul of Tarsus was not saved on the road to Damascus.

I’m sorry, but Peter doesn’t teach that in 1 Peter 3:21. He doesn’t talk about anything saving us—or them , but water. No mention of the Spirit at all. You know, for water to be a “symbol” of Holy Spirit baptism, don’t you think it would be mentioned somewhere in the scripture? You can’t...

Oh, did I misunderstand your comment “Borax”. Isn’t that something used in physical washing? If you believe what Peter said about it not being a “bath” , just say so and I will apologize.

Galatians 3:7-9 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, [saying], In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of...
