Gabby Petito: Search for missing woman continues; Fiancé Brian Laundrie is person of interest

This is a terrible situation on more than one level. First, how awful for her family. It looks like she wasn't estranged from them. Just an adventurous young woman who made some of the poor decisions adventurous young women tend to do, only she paid for it more dearly. That and they can't get...

For the Men: Would You Choose Single Fatherhood Over Abortion if Given the Choice?

This is an interesting hypothetical. If you're not married, you do have the option to leave. It may be the wisest decision if you think you just met her and are unprepared to be a father. If you're married or in one of these modern long-term relationships, the only good option is to stay. Yes...

Does "I Love You" Feel the Same in Every Language?

The threshold is higher in the Anglosphere. I've dated girls from Latin America and Eastern Europe who were way quicker to say it than their English-speaking counter-parts. Maybe it isn't because love feels different to them so much as love comes easier. I don't know. Something to think about.

For the Men: Would You Choose Single Fatherhood Over Abortion if Given the Choice?

If I'm in that situation, I fight with everything I have to keep my boy or girl alive. It's a moral obligation. On that note, I'm seeing on this site lately is a lack of appreciation for norms and moral obligations. We are told to go forth and sin no more. If we love Him, we obey His...

Abortion started out as a genocidal measure. But something need not be genocidal to be evil. Abortion is a form of mass killing funded in part by our government. It is not merely a decision made on an individual basis, but now a cultural norm that has to be uprooted.

Anyone here have a happy marriage after adultery?

Of course I acknowledge I sin. That is a silly way to respond. Like I said, we are all called to virtue. Obviously, my own experience and lessons drawn from the hurt impair me from providing either good advice or advice most will respect. I'll recuse myself from the thread. I happen to agree...

Anyone here have a happy marriage after adultery?

Our culture is ultimately worse off because we have allowed excuses to cloud moral expectations. This lassitude has led to the kind of hurt you so despise. I'm not sorry for being the one person here to acknowledge this. There is no grace without a full understanding of and reverence for the law.

Anyone here have a happy marriage after adultery?

That may be so, but it's not a valid excuse. We are all called to virtue. Part of being virtuous is doing one's best to mitigate the mess that is life instead of continuing the cycle of hurt and betrayal. I know I sound callous, but it's because I have been similarly hurt before and have heard...

Also, I am sick and tired of people (particularly women) citing their TERRIBLE and AWFUL past as a reason to torch their relationships. Everyone over 25 has "a past." Grow up.
