    Not By Works

You are defending a doctrine and evading the truth. In Jn 6, Jesus is not saying that belief is God’s work and therefore you only believe if God makes you a believer. They asked Jesus what work of God they could do, meaning what sacrifice can we perform, what good deed can we do? Jesus flat...

    Not By Works

I trust Jesus. I confess that He is the Messiah, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. However, you seem to speak like a typical Calvinist, that Jesus really meant to say you don’t really have to use your voice to confess. Bunk.

    Not By Works

Confession comes through belief? What are you saying? That when we believe, that actually constitutes a confession? Rom 10. “10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” That does not sound like what you are saying. I trust...

But without it…would Jesus confess you to His Father?

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

Let me be explicit. You believe in Satan, right? You believe Satan is the great deceiver, right? You “know” these things and do not doubt them. But you would never submit to Satan because you are a christian, right? That word “believe” means the same to demons. They “believe” Jesus. They...

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

I believe that christians will sin. 1 Jn 2. “My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; 2 and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for...

    Is “confession” a righteous work?

    Not By Works

Exactly what is a “work”? Rom 10. “10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.” Isn’t confession something a person “does” with the voice? Isn’t that a “work”? If not, why differentiate between confession and...

Why Daniel's 70th week must be in the future

Really? You understand Mt 24 so very well? Well, who is Jesus’ audience on that occassion? You? Someone thousands of years later? You have to rip Mt 24 apart to get Jesus speaking to them and not to them but others, then back to them and then again about some future day not involving them...

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

I’m actually agreeing with you, but you insist on differentiating on the meaning of pistis, that it means something different for humans than it does for demons. See: https://thelogosofagape.wordpress.com/2018/07/25/pistis-pisteos-and-pisteuo-a-greek-word-study/comment-page-1/.

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

No, not like christians, because the demons are diametrically opposed to Jesus. Whenever they encountered Him while He was with the apostles they refused to submit and plead forgiveness. Instead they would say things like “What have we to do with Thee” or some similar remark. The word for...

Why Daniel's 70th week must be in the future

Thank you for proving my point. It’s not in Rev 20. I’ll just let it go at that. I disagree with you on the whole concept of “the latter day”. My point about Rev 20 is correct. But…during Christ’s “earthly reign”, is that where “everlasting righteousness” exists as in Dan 9:24?

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

You say they did not trust in Jesus, meaning they did not rely on Him for salvation. I say they refused to obey or submit to His authority. We both say it differently, but we actually agree. But regardless of our agreement, the word for belief is pistis, meaning trust. Even with that...

Dispensationalists are wrong in Rev 20.

Thank you for your response. I agree to disagree, lol. Jesus said there is an “hour” coming in which all that are in the graves will come forth. I simply cannot reconcile that with a millenial kingdom on earth.

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

The word belief in Greek is pistis, which means confidence or trust. Commentators argue that the demons tremble in fear. But that trembling could also be regarded as anger. They tremble with anger towards God. Under that concept of anger, the image is that of one so diametrically opposed to God...

I do agree that faith/belief in Jesus compels us to “good” works.

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

I would think so, meaning that God and man are involved with salvation. In Acts, they are often asked “What must I do… “ and the apostle tells them what “to do”.

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

I am referring to “salvation” as stated in Rom 10. And exactly correct, faith is something that a man does.

Once saved always saved (OSAS) debunked

James said that demons believe, but they tremble. So no, not all belief/faith produces good works. And please do not suggest that demonic belief is not faith.

It would depend upon which definition of synergistic you subscribe to and how you reconcile that with sanctification. Synergism implies teamwork, and under that definition “confession” works unto salvation like the scripture teaches. But it is still not meritorious.
