    Luke 1

Yes Jesus is addressing the Pharisees and teachers of the Law. And perhaps He uses a three part parable because they did not seem to understand the short answer given in Luke 5:31-32. And about that shepherd and his sheep. Jesus asks, "Doesn't he leave the 99 in the open country and go...

    Luke 1

The parable in Luke 15:3 to 15:32 is traditionally viewed as three parables (the lost Sheep, Lost Coin and Parable Son) But it appears from Luke 15:3, 15:8 and 15:11 that Luke 15:3 to 15:32 is actually one parable (with 3 branches). Anyone care to comment?

    Luke 15:3-32

Traditionally Luke 15:3-32 has been viewed as containing 3 parables; the lost sheep, lost coin and the prodigal son. But Luke 15:3 and Luke 15:8 and Luke 15:11 suggest that Luke 15:3-32 is actually one parable (albeit with three "vinyettes"). Any one care to comment?
