Acts 2:40-41 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation!" 41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. It sure seems like the scriptures...

All scripture is inspired by God. Everything the Apostles preached was inspired by God. As one reads through the conversions in the New Testament, they were always baptized the same day that they believed. That is the pattern revealed in the book of Acts. Thanks, Wayne

How come in these people in Acts 2 were not added to the church until they were baptized? It is because that is when they were forgiven of their sins and given the Holy Spirit. Wayne

Hi Mailmandan, In Acts 10:43-47 refers to the baptism of the Holy Spirit not the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. They received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit when they were baptized in water. See Acts 2:38. In Christ or Lord, Wayne

    Faith biblically defined

Hi Flying Dove, You are right! I needed to show that there is a difference between faith and hope. Faith is not the same thing as hope. Hebrews 11:1 says that Faith is the substance and evidence of hope. Hope cannot be seen, but faith can be seen. How does one see faith? Thanks, Wayne

We need to see Acts 2:36-41 in context. Acts 2:36-41 "Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ--this Jesus whom you crucified." 37 Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, (at this point the believed) and said to Peter...
