Wouldn't that be legalism? I was referring to the Commandments given by God that we do to earn merit before God, when all along God considers only One Person as righteous, aka His Son Jesus Christ.

Paul used the 10th Commandment (coveting) in Rom 7 (hardly prescribed by 'religious leaders'). I don't believe any good deeds (prescribed by men or God) which we 'do' are good enough. We only end up robbing God of the glory due His Son, when we offer our good works in hope of merit before God...
