The fonts are determined by the software the site is built on, and nothing to do with a font being hated or not. Comic Sans disappeared when the site changes software.

When posting links you should give a bit of a description and not just post links. Many won't click without having some idea what it is about. And with news maybe an excerpt from the article that gives a good idea what the subject matter is, or a description. Then let the link be the proof.
