    How do YOU express love?

With strangers: Polite, friendly and kind. With store clerks: Same as above. If they’re new I welcome them and make small talk. Those I’m more acquainted with get inquiries about their welfare and other subjects we’ve discussed. I like to show my gratitude for their help or customer service...

    Censor yourself?

There are things which enter our minds that should never be uttered. Self-control is an important virtue and fruit of the spirit worth cultivating. For me, it isn’t merely a question of sharing my thoughts. Considering the correctness of doing so, my relationship with the individual...

    Marriage...expensive or just the wedding?

Weddings are a big deal here. I’ve seen a few at church. The building is reserved for them. But the majority are held elsewhere. That’s gaining popularity. As are DIY events. Wedding planning is lucrative if you’re organized.

    Marriage...expensive or just the wedding?

We have marriage licenses. They’re very inexpensive. I’m not oblivious to poverty or ignorant of how wealth is accumulated. And what may work where you live might be difficult to implement elsewhere.

You can’t attribute his familial problems to our culture. Many couples succeed and stay together. Not all marriages are happy regardless of their income. Many stay together because they can’t afford to walk away.

    Marriage...expensive or just the wedding?

I was referring to the pastor’s children. As for couples with children who marry, I can’t say. They’d make arrangements with relatives or bring them along.

    Marriage...expensive or just the wedding?

No one is required to have a honeymoon. It isn’t a need or basic necessity. As for the US, if things are so horrid why are so many desiring to come here? It’s evident the gains outweigh the challenges for most.

    Marriage...expensive or just the wedding?

Why can’t the couple have their honeymoon elsewhere? I don’t understand the logic of removing someone from their home. More importantly, it isn’t the pastor’s responsibility to do so. Most are overworked and don’t need more on their plate. With two adults getting married and extended families...

Can a man love ONLY ONE woman?

There are varying degrees and expressions of love. Care and regard are frequently lumped in when their intentions are usually less sacrificial. In my life, the love I feel for my companion is demonstratively different from others. Not solely due to intimacy. But also the measure of respect and...

If the Church Won't, the Government Will

Most of the unchurched’s departure was not influenced by negative events or hurts they’ve experienced through others. Or an erosion of faith. They simply view the system as it stands as incompatible with their faith and principles. Some are opting for house churches or informal gatherings in...

Advice From A Octogenarian---Don't Depend On Christian Charity In Your Old Age

It isn’t as simple as it sounds. You need to submit financial records. I don’t recall if the facility or Medicare requires it. But they ‘ll ask about your assets. Better homes require payment and Medicare kicks in when its gone. The standard of care is world’s apart. I wouldn’t skimp on...

Advice From A Octogenarian---Don't Depend On Christian Charity In Your Old Age

The spike in nursing care is largely due to medical issues like dementia and Alzheimer’s. Depending on the stage they’re in, it can be difficult to keep them at home. The elderly are subject to injury and need accommodations which most homes don’t contain. Many work until retirement age (or...

    Marriage...expensive or just the wedding?

Where would the pastor stay while couples are honeymooning at their home? And their children? Most have families. I don’t see that happening unless their property had separate quarters for guests. And I wouldn’t displace someone’s family for a time to honeymoon. From my understanding in the US...
