    Apologetics: witnessing to atheists

Yes and I like that Paul blames their god for blindness, not the Lord God.

    Various Moral Issues

Jesus once stated that “the poor you will always have with you” (MT 26:11). However, He also taught us to “give to the poor” (MT 19:21). These verses suggest that we should do our best to alleviate, if not completely eliminate, the problems related to poverty. We know that “You shall not...

    Gift of Tongues

And apparently there are some who hate or do not have a heart to learn what Scripture says about speaking in tongues.

    Applying God's Word to Politics

Both of you have good points and harmonizing them is how we arrive at a closer approximation or better understanding of the truth.

    Apologetics: witnessing to atheists

Great and I hope you had better results than I. Jesus tried to draw all people but had to hope that being hoisted on a cross would do it. It appears that every tongue confessing him as Lord may not happen until in heaven. ☹️

    Apologetics: witnessing to atheists

Yes atheism is an ungodly belief or humanist religion that substitutes i-dolatry for I am.

    Apologetics: witnessing to atheists

And of course Isaiah was unaware of Jesus’ lament concerning Jerusalem being “unwilling “.

    Apologetics: witnessing to atheists

Thanks Magenta. I must say though that Isaiah did not consider whether DT 30:19 applies to everyone which makes people rather than God responsible for their sins.

    Apologetics: witnessing to atheists

Actually I did realize the need to change “book” to thread. 🤪

    The Gospels and the Mystery

Well, Paul’s doctrine in Romans is that God has included the Gentiles in His plan of salvation and that Israel must cooperate with the New Covenant in order to be saved.

    Apologetics: witnessing to atheists

I appreciate your explanation and agree that my wording is ironic—because I took it from a book I have written without thinking to change it for this community.

    Apologetics: witnessing to atheists

I like your rewrite just fine, and I see what I write as a continuation of Paul’s method. While simplicity is good for most people I think being prepared to explain the reasons for our hope in detail is good for resisting the devil’s arguments.

    Applying God's Word to Politics

Good discussion everybody. I even like what Publican said because he referred to one of my favorite Pauline principles: Christians are members of one body or orchestra with different parts or instruments to play. (1 CR 12:4-31)

    Applying God's Word to Politics

Actually, I think I should have been citing more Scripture in several of my posts, so I will try to atone for that with this one listing biblical passages that seem inseparable from politics. Biblical values related to political issues with a brief explanation: Genesis 1:27a: “God created...

    Applying God's Word to Politics

I agree, but I think it is good for everyone to cite Scripture support for our views if possible (which I think we are usually doing—mine is above/previous).

    Why Christianity?

We are answering this question with special reference to atheists on the Apologetics thread so I won’t repeat myself here if you will join us there.

    Apologetics: witnessing to atheists

I remind you that I am exploring the logic of Paul in RM 1:20 when he says that creation reveals God's power and loving nature. I began the logical train of thought by citing three unavoidable beliefs and then two qualitatively opposite answers to the question regarding the meaning of life...

Do stillborns and deceased babies go to 'hell'

What about Jesus saying, "Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven?" (MT 18:3) Or on the other hand, what about GN 1:26, "God said, Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness..." combined with 3:22, "The Lord God said, The man has now...

In your opinion do you believe world is about 6000 years old

Another aspect that I have not noticed included in this discussion is that if 6,000 years ago God created a cosmos that appears to be 6 billion years old, then was He trying to trick scientists? Why?
