    Septuagint

You misunderstood the meaning of my question. When they used only the Alexandrian Greek to replace the New Testament, why didn't they do the same for the Old Testament? You still haven't given me a source for the Septuagint. How do I find it to read it? Or doesn't it exist today?

    Septuagint

What I am asking is what Septuagint are you talking about? Does it exist today? If it doesn't exist today, how do you know it is quoted in the New Testament? In order to believe it is quoted in the New Testament you have to be able to read it to compare.

    Septuagint

I have a principle that I don't trust anything I read unless I can prove it, with the exception of the Bible. Are you referring to the Codex Sinaiticus that is in the British Library? The DSS indicates that the Hebrew is extremely accurate, while the so-called Septuagint not so much.

    Septuagint

Which Septuagint are you referring to? The one from 2,000 years ago which doesn't exist or the current one, which has been shown to be corrupt, and disavowed by the Orthodox Church?

According to the Talmud there is 2,000 years of chaos, 2,000 years of law, 2,000 years of the Messiah, and a thousand years of shabbat. I also believe that the sun revolves around the earth.

You are right. Life and Letters of J.A.F. Hort volume I page 78. Letter addressed to Mr. John Ellerton dated July 6, 1848. “Talking of your friend Shields and his carnivora forsaking the butcher for the greengrocer, I am inclined to think that no such state as Eden ever existed, and that...

Who provided the material for your translation?

You have made a broad statement. Can you back that up with evidence of one of the comments being out of context? I have no desire to argue, I love you. This is totally about truth.

The book of Job, my favorite book.

How can there be a difference if the whole bible is inspired? If Paul's words are not inspired, how can I believe any of his words? Is it up to me to pick which words are inspired and which ones are not?

    Septuagint

THE BIRTH OF THE MODERN SEPTUAGINT BEGINS WITH THE CODEX VATICANUS 1209 Thomson's Translation of the Bible is a direct translation of the Greek Septuagint version of the Old Testament into English, rare for its time. It took Charles Thomson, the secretary of the Continental Congress from 1774...

    Septuagint

The text of the Codex Vaticanus 1209 does not represent the original Septuagint according to the Greek Orthodox Church. The manuscript was twice re-inked, with new letters in place of the old. In the margin of this manuscript, it tells us they altered the reading. The Codex Sinaiticus (IMO) is...

    Septuagint

According to the Greek Orthodox Church, the Septuagint that they consider canonical is not the present-day Septuagint which was derived from the corrupted Alexandrine texts, namely Codex Vaticanus, Codex Sinaiticus, and Codex Ephraemi Rescriptus. They consider the Received Text, as the text most...
