    Hell, Sheol, Hades...

That wasn't the question. There was no mention of 'everlasting' in the question. But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall...

    Hell, Sheol, Hades...

But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten. Jer 20:11 (KJV) How can a person be confused if they don't exist?

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. My brethren ... James 1:1-2 (KJV) Are these the 12 fleshly tribes & fleshly brethren; or born again brothers in Christ among the scattered tribes? Examples: My brethren, count it all...

What "law" is Romans 2:26 talking about?

Notice it says 'righteousness of the law'; not 'the law'. The Mosaic law (with all its details) was given to Israel, not to the Gentiles. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the...

    Eternal life

Both. That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:15-16 (KJV) He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting...

Are deadbeat family member not saved? 1 Tim 5:8

You may know for sure before you die. That hope is the anchor of the soul. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:13 (KJV)

    That's transitional.

    Was Simon the Sorcerer saved?

That's incorrect. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit happens at the moment of rebirth. The filling of the Holy Spirit is ongoing, happens repeatedly, and has no effect on the rebirth.

    Was Simon the Sorcerer saved?

Yeah, I don't see any reason to exclude Simon from the "them".

    Was Simon the Sorcerer saved?

The text doesn't say that. No he didn't. He offered them money to get the power to lay his hands on others so they could receive the Holy Spirit.

    Was Simon the Sorcerer saved?

    Sin in Saving

I suggest studying and meditating on Romans 7:14 to 8:14. There are two "I"'s in 7:14 to 7:25. The truly saved person still has their unsaved flesh. The flesh has sinful desires and is not to be walked after, but can be. Saved David desired Bathsheba and remained saved. He also received a...

    Was Simon the Sorcerer saved?

    Simon wasn't a demon.

    Was Simon the Sorcerer saved?

I think he was saved: he believed. My heart's not always right with God - when I let my mind drift where it ought not. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. Acts 8:21 (KJV) "This matter" is laying on of hands for people to receive the...

What is the "house" in Hebrews 3:6?

But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. Heb 3:6 (KJV) So do you think that if some of the "we" don't hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end, they'll no longer be...

What is the "house" in Hebrews 3:6?

But those are different portions of Scripture with their own specific contexts. The same term used in various contexts may not be referring to the same thing each time.

What is the "house" in Hebrews 3:6?

I have a problem seeing it as the church because of the "if" clause. The clause is contrasted with: Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. I'm thinking the house might be service-related as opposed to salvation-related somehow.
