Why would one not present that each Sunday?

Why are lost people coming to the assembly of believers? The local church is for believers to gather and be equipped to live as children of light. The believers are to preach the gospel out in the world.

Believers bring their children with them to church. All children start out lost.

Then you are free to kick them out of your gathering if you like and ensure the door has a sign at the entrance saying " Sinners not welcome."

The parents should preach the gospel to them. Why leave this to the pastor's sermon?
Your assertion that believers should preach to unbelievers outside the church gathering is not wrong.

What you seem to advocate is that preaching should not include the basic gospel message because church is for the already-believing.

You are making a dangerous assumption and a mountain from a molehill. Let it go.

Boy, where did that come from?

Not a mountain, just a discussion. I’m not against a short gospel call at the end of a service.

I asked why are they coming? Let them come, but the overall message should be for equipping believers.

Some of the answers deeply hurt my soul, because people speak of the gospel as if it is only needed at the beginning to become a christian.
The gospel is not only needed to be saved, but is also nourishment for the believer.
Paul explains and teaches the gospel in every and each of his letters. Why would he do that, if they are obviously addressed to believers?
I think there’s nothing more edifying than receiving the assurance of forgiveness through the clear teaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
When your conscience tourments your soul and you are afflicted, because you have fallen in temptation and sinned, the teaching of the gospel is what you need.
When the accuser attacks you, the proclamation of the gospel is needed.
Jesus Christ is the bread, that we need daily and a believer never grows out of the gospel.
It is the expression of the love of God. Through it we can understand, that God loves us.
It’s not only the lifestarter, it’s also the sustainer of the life you were given.
I think the day you grow out of hearing the gospel is the day you stopped being sensitive to the Holy Spirit, because as long as we are on this fallen planet, we will never be so holy as to not be in need of forgiveness by God.
Apostle John also preaches the gospel to the believers throughout his first letter, please read 1. John 2, 1-2. The gospel is taught and proclaimed to believers, who came to the faith through the same gospel.
Why would you even celebrate the Lord’s Supper as a believer? It is a proclamation of the gospel of Christ, but you are saved already, are you still in need of the forgiveness through the blood of Christ?
I think everybody gets the point: It is not a basis, we ever grow out of.

The church should absolutely preach the gospel of Christ which is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes - Romans 1:16) to the congregation. The difference between believing the gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) and not believing the gospel (1 Corinthians 1:18-21; 2 Corinthians 4:3,4) is the difference between salvation and condemnation.

I agree with you and I want to point something out regarding the scripture you quote in
1. Corinthians 1:18:
For the word of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us who are saved it is the power of God.

Paul says unto us who are saved it is the power of God. Why would he include himself by saying us? Was he not saved at that moment? Does he still need the word of the cross? He was saved yet it is still the saving, edifying power of God for him and for the believers in Corinth.

The church should preach the gospel to the congregation? Is not the congregation the church, the body of Christ?

Not everyone in a church service is necessarily a part of the Church, the body of Christ. In common usage, a congregation refers to all the people gathered for a church service, regardless of their salvation status. It's defined as an assembly of worshippers, including regular members, visitors, and seekers.
