The local church must continue to bring God's word to the public, whether they be Christian or not!

Agreed, out to the public, not necessarily during a local church gathering where most if not everyone is already saved.

That single word is the key. Unless the gathering leader is CERTAIN that everyone present is saved, then preaching the gospel "at church" is appropriate.

Even if the leader is certain, it does no harm to present the truth.

Yes, maybe the last 5 minutes of the sermon. The gathering is meant to equip the saints to be ambassadors for Jesus Christ. The believers are to go out and preach the gospel. When people are saved, the believers invite them to the local church to start growing up in their faith.

There are genuine Christians and there are "nominal" or pseudo Christians. There are genuine believers and there are make believers, and it's not hard to find them mixed together in various churches and on various Christian forum sites.

Should the local church preach the gospel to its congregation? The gospel of Jesus Christ is how he died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. Shouldn't those in the local assembly already have this checked off? Isn't church about equipping the saints through the preaching of the word to walk as children of light? When people hear the same message over and over, they do not mature in their faith but remain babes in Christ.

Thoughts??
What about guests in the audience? What about repetition for the purpose of instruction? Not all church members are created equally nor are all studious.

The Thing that I have found in most Bible Sites is that people's opinions are expressed more that the Bible Truth! This is why there are so many Denominations Today! Also, The Bible can't be correct; for there is also The Quran and The Book OF Enoch, for example.

So which is really correct ? Are all of Them
So listen ( as I see you already do) God still speaks and points throw that net over there as we all work together unknowingly
Thanks
The question is, “Should the church preach the gospel”, not “Is the church preaching the ‘correct’ gospel”.

DINO ---- My answer indicates that MOST ARE NOT ! Also, what Gospel is being taught in most churches Today? The Old One of the New One ? ?

"And now let Me remind you since it seems to have escaped you, brethren, of THE GOSPEL (OF GLAD TIDINGS OD SALVATION) which I proclaimed to you, which you welcomed and accepted and upon which your faith rests, and by which you were saved, IF you hold fast and keep firmly what I preach to you, unless you believe at first without effect and all for nothing. of The Gospel which I proclaim unto you welcomed and accepted and upon which your faith rest."

Denominational differences are about far more than music and clothing. They're mostly about non-essential doctrinal differences which have always existed and always will exist this side of heaven.
Don't forget playing cards, dancing, and listening to pop music.

Now we are talking real old time godliness here.

Yeeehaaa.

Let Me stir The Pot some more. What Gospel did The Apostle Paul teach? Why? To Whom? When, where?

You want the gospel.

1 Corinthians 2:2
For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.

Because that belief in Jesus is the only thing that saves anyone.

To all and sundry.

Until Jesus returns and in and out of season.

Global.

The gospel is the "good news" of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) and is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that BELIEVES.. (Romans 1:16) To "believe" the gospel is to trust in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation.

I get it, but what is the purpose of the local church? Is it not to equip the saints, the believers? If the gospel is being preached every week, the members are not growing up in their faith. They remain babes in Christ.

If the only thing preached is the basic gospel, then yes, but then the problem would be the leadership, not the gospel. I have never heard of such a church.

Further, Paul’s use of “gospel” encompasses all of his teachings, not just the basic message of salvation.

Strongly disagree. Gathering has worked for years, even Matt 18:20 calls us to gather.
Teaching is important but so is fellowship with like-minded people.

Why are there lost people at a local gathering of believers?

There are lost people everywhere, just look around yourself. Should they be denied access to a church? They may come once and never return, but we cannot see into their heart - only God can do that!
