I once told "Dallasman" that the last good thing to come out of Dallas was Tom Landry. It went right over his head. He never considered that it included him as well!
You just proved you don't know much

But they will classify those people in with 1 John 2:19 and Matthew 7:23.Yep, this leads to their ongoing confusion
The local church must continue to bring God's word to the public, whether they be Christian or not!
That single word is the key. Unless the gathering leader is CERTAIN that everyone present is saved, then preaching the gospel "at church" is appropriate.Agreed, out to the public, not necessarily during a local church gathering where most if not everyone is already saved.

Even if the leader is certain, it does no harm to present the truth.
There are genuine Christians and there are "nominal" or pseudo Christians. There are genuine believers and there are make believers, and it's not hard to find them mixed together in various churches and on various Christian forum sites. That single word is the key. What about guests in the audience? What about repetition for the purpose of instruction? Not all church members are created equally nor are all studious.Should the local church preach the gospel to its congregation? The gospel of Jesus Christ is how he died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. Shouldn't those in the local assembly already have this checked off? Isn't church about equipping the saints through the preaching of the word to walk as children of light? When people hear the same message over and over, they do not mature in their faith but remain babes in Christ.
Thoughts??
So listen ( as I see you already do) God still speaks and points throw that net over there as we all work together unknowingly
Thanks
The question is, “Should the church preach the gospel”, not “Is the church preaching the ‘correct’ gospel”.
Don't forget playing cards, dancing, and listening to pop music.Denominational differences are about far more than music and clothing. They're mostly about non-essential doctrinal differences which have always existed and always will exist this side of heaven.
Let Me stir The Pot some more. What Gospel did The Apostle Paul teach? Why? To Whom? When, where?

If the only thing preached is the basic gospel, then yes, but then the problem would be the leadership, not the gospel. I have never heard of such a church.I get it, but what is the purpose of the local church? Is it not to equip the saints, the believers? If the gospel is being preached every week, the members are not growing up in their faith. They remain babes in Christ.
Strongly disagree. Gathering has worked for years, even Matt 18:20 calls us to gather.Agreed, out to the public, not necessarily during a local church gathering where most if not everyone is already saved.

Further, Paul’s use of “gospel” encompasses all of his teachings, not just the basic message of salvation.

Teaching is important but so is fellowship with like-minded people.
There are lost people everywhere, just look around yourself. Should they be denied access to a church? They may come once and never return, but we cannot see into their heart - only God can do that! Why are there lost people at a local gathering of believers?
