Concerning the gift of tongues

Also I wonder if the way my poems work is a type of speaking in tongues, I am a writer not so much a speaker so my words are best explained in written form all I know is that I feel God urging me to write I have no idea what is going to be written but once I start the words just pour out and I cannot get them out fast enough my fingers feel hot and the words just flow out

Sometimes I can feel the holy spirit with in me, making me pray. I kind of start getting a feeling like anxiety, if I then pray, then this feeling goes away.

Yes I do play music/learning, but he didn't with me. He did it with brother Denis.
I have been lacking me my music studies. I just sent my violin off to be auctioned. And, I need to get back to my piano studies.

What I actually believe about the gift of tongues is different to you.. but I think it's fruitful to examine what it really is in scripture.

I tried to read it all but being legally blind it strains my eyes reading a lot of words could you give me a quick rundown of what you wanted me to glean from it? I am also going to be doing some research on the gift for myself to better understand it and I appreciate you trying to teach me as well

Key points... The tongues are identified to be practiced in a New Testament church setting.

It's meant for the local NT assembly of believers

They are inferior to prophecy

They should be interpreted for the edification of others in the church.

They should be understandable to the listeners...in their language.

They should be used by one or two..at the most three...and have an interpreter present.

The church at Corinth was in a port city.. affected by many different peoples who had a lot of paganism with worship of many gods.

They also practiced paganism tongues most likely.

They were competing with each other on the gifts .. trying to be superior to each other.

Whether speaking mysteries is condoned or not... the best way was to interpret the tongues for the edification of the church.

ok that sounds about right to me though I don't know for sure about praying in tongues however if it is for the edificcation of the church thenthat seems to be the main purpose of tongues

Modern day claims of tongues are a far cry from that which is described in the New Testament.

New Testament tongues were legitimate examples of physical supernatural manifestations of the Holy Spirit.

That is speculation and “adding to Scripture”. You aren’t helping when you’re misrepresenting what the Bible says.

therefore, later on God came down to earth in Son through the Virgin Mary to represent God Father himself as Son, Jesus as human, revealing God's true Love and mercy for us all to see in miracles of healing. That is done and the Tongues became known, as God can speak any language to anyone to tell them truth over the errors here on earth still.
Look at the day of Pentecost, there were how many people there, and how many different languages spoken then? That others did not understand, yet through the disciples, they heard in their own languages, the truth of Son risen for them to be new in Father, Daddy's, PaPa's Spirit and Truth to love all, not just a few anymore

As Father through risen Son put everyone in one accord, people hearing truth in their own languages, responded in belief or not, as is still happening today, you think?
If I do not understand another persons speaking, then I might begin too ask Daddy, for to hear, or go on in my own accord of flesh nature as I see many have and do that today, myself was included in. that for a while, to see what I needed, taking thinks literally, over Spiritual truth by God for us in risen Son to us to stand in, no matter what, thanks

No one is using modern day "tongues" as a means of sharing the truth. That is what tongues were used for during the 1st Century.

Today's modern day tongues is simply one of many discredited new age narratives.

Well, many bible scholars agree the Corinthians had this issue. It's not something unclear.

Just type in Corinthians and paganism and see the amount of results on the internet. Not all are solid..but there is plenty about this.

A city affected by paganism would NOT have counterfeit, pagan tongues?

Yes, do not temp the lord your God. We know that God cannot be tempted, so, what you expect from tempting God is, NOTHING.

why do you think that is? is the gift of tongues just that rare or is it just so misunderstood that it is not ever used correctly?
With all the fake tongues I have expereienced I would by all means think it is not a gift for today but I have a few times seen and tasted the real thing myself so I know it is real but why is it so rare I wonder?
