Do we dissapoint God?

Given that God knows everything about us.
He knows our past and he knows our future.
He knows us before we are born.
He has created us in our mother's womb.
He knows we will sin even before we are born.

So when we sin, get it wrong, are not loving are selfish etc.

Is he disappointed with us?

If you say no why do feel that way?
If you say yes why do you feel that way?

I would say ' no ' because I believe that God already knows everything there is to know about us , good and bad , we cannot ever suprise Him therefore we can't dissapoint Him . Don't forget , we r not saved because we r better than anyone else or because we r pleasing to God , He saves because He chooses to do so based on His own merciful ways . There is no unrighteousness with Him and there is no righteousness in us other than that which is provided for us by His Son Jesus Christ our Sinless Redeemer .

So would you say that you find/know/feel secure in the love of God, his acceptance of you based on what he has done and not what you have to do/be?

I know many who feel they have to do/be to be loved and accepted.
I know many who feel this way are waiting for a spanking or punishment.

1.) The word "disappoint" implies a certain level of expectation.

2.) If God has no such expectation, it's hard to imagine how he could be disappointed.

3.) I think he is still displeased with our sinful actions... but I don't think God is capable of the particular feeling of disappointment.

I know that God knows that He has shown me , through His Son , what behaviours he expects from me and what behaviours he doesn't expect from me 🥴 . He knows , that I know , that I am to try very hard to live up to His expectations , He also knows that I will sometimes fail . But , I believe that our lives , as they r now , r our training ground . We r here to learn and God uses many methods to teach us . Every time we fail we learn , every experience in this life , happens to us for us to learn something . A sister in Christ once told me that we r here to :
' get our rough edges smoothed out ' . We will not b perfect in this life , it's all a learning curve and if any of us believes that we don't have anything else to learn , we r in big trouble . One of the worst things anyone could ever say to me is : ' u never change do u ? Or : u haven't changed ' Aaaaargh ! I sincerely hope I'm not the same person I was 40 , 30 , 20 , 10 or even five years ago , to change is to grow and I think we all need to b open to learning about God , Jesus , ourselves and others . Ultimately , He is my maker and he is the maker of all flesh , saints and sinners alike . He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy and it's not my place to question why me and not him/ her . I'm just so grateful that He didn't leave me alone here in these kingdoms of darkness and death with nothing to look forward to other than the grave . He saved my life and my sanity , He has cheered me up beyond measure by allowing me a measure of understanding of the things that pertain to Him . Paul lists numerous sins that grieve the HS in EPH 4:17-32.

yes, disappointed because He knows we can always do better. why? because He has given us the ability to. just cogitate on 1st corinthians 10:13! "God is hard to please but not to satisfy"! hard to please because we want our way almost always. He's satisfied because we try & succeed sometimes.

who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are
able; but will with the temptation also make a way to
escape, that ye may be able to bear [it.

Keep in mind that we are saved by grace and not works. And, thinking on this, we are all equals. Male, female, gentile, jew...

I'm not sure if it can be described as disappointment the way we know it, but I do think God feels deep anguish over His people.

I always think of Ezekiel 33:11, in which God is calling His people to repent and turn back from their sins -- "Turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel?"

I once read an article in which a Christian author (Philip Yancey) said he saw this verse almost as if God were pleading with a wayward child, knowing everything they had done, knowing they're going to do it again to their own detriment, but begging with an anguished heart that they might choose something better.

I believe God still feels this way about us at times... and it's heartbreaking.

Jesus told Peter he would deny Him 3 times before the rooster crowed, and Peter said up and down he would NEVER do this.

But when he did, the Bible simply, quietly says, "The Lord turned and looked at Peter." (Luke 22:61)

To our knowledge, not a word was exchanged.

But it was a look that held so much weight, it sent Peter -- a grown man who'd seen countless demonstrations of God's power, and even more within a private "inner circle" (Peter, James, and John) -- running outside. And wailing with all his soul before the Lord.

I can't say what it's like for other Christians, but I myself have felt that LOOK a few times as it's cut open every nook and cranny of my heart that I might have tried to hide or deny.

And, like Peter, it has me bawling my eyes out every time.

I know that God loves me and will forgive me. But He also knows I could have chosen better, and I didn't.

It's a crushing "look" I can feel within every fiber of my soul -- and maybe it's more correction or discipline than sheer disappointment -- but I can tell you that at the time, it pretty much all feels the same.

I think God loves me just the way I am and will continue to love me; I just need to continue spending time with Him daily, like I have been.

God expects nothing from us. That's why He crucified us with Christ, to get us out of the way through death. The problem is that we still have expectations for self and we hope that we can improve it somehow. Much failure hopefully convinces us that we got it wrong. We should give up on self and surrender entirely to Jesus. Let Him take care of us and all of our problems. When we see that Christ is indeed our life, we will be transformed. The life of trying will be replaced with a life of trusting. That is real peace. That is victory.

Will we fail again? Undoubtedly. We are still subject to temptation and it's easy to get complacent. We simply need to confess our sin and get on with living as if nothing happened.

Every time we resist temptation, we get stronger. Every time we give in, we get weaker. As we trust Jesus more and more, it gets easier to live in victory. But it starts with knowing that we are new creations and sin is no longer normal for us. It is the exception, not the rule.

That verse does not say what you quoted, but I would agree that God is satisfied by sinners seeking His salvation in JC,
but grieved when they fail to manifest the fruit of salvation/His HS--which is too often on CC.

it wasn't meant to, it is a life lesson separate from the verse. the crux in the verse is that "who will NOT suffer you to be tempted above that you are able but WILL WITH THE TEMPTATION ALSO MAKE A WAY TO ESCAPE...."!

That is a really good question and have wondered so myself. I really have no answer. However, to paraphrase Paul.....those things which I should do I don't do and those things I shouldn't do those I do. I can say I sure feel disappointed in myself at times. O wretched man that I am.

Yes, was all through the first Testament, known as Old Testament now. Not in the risen Son
therefore, I see we not under Law anymore, and see to uphold law as good for Father, Daddy, PaPa to perform the love and mercy of Son through his children that are willing, otherwise it will not get done correctly, at least to me, thanks

Has nothing to do with anyone taking this truth for granted as the Corinthians had done at first, that Paul wrote to them to correct this lie they got in them about being forgiven, which got in their thought(s) from evil, this what they thought, well we can do as we please now, and did not have care for others, only self

God has sent us His word through Moses, the prophets, Christ and the apostles. All through time mankind has rebelled against God and chased after other gods, causing God's wrath to fall upon them. God is long suffering and merciful. He sent Christ to atone for the world's sins. It is God's will that all come to repentance and that none perish. All will be judged at the White Throne Judgement, Rev 20:11-15, for their works and whether or not they accepted Christ as Savior. This whole earth age is about making a decision who you are going to follow, God or Satan. Unfortunately, there are many that have rejected God's savior and will have their place in the lake of fire. being blotted out and forgotten about.

Ask how does God see you and me right now? He would have to be disappointed in Christ for God sees us through what Christ has already done. We are holy and righteous because we believe in trust in Jesus Christ. There is no other way. Christ is the door.

What gets you well me the most is.. you expect Him to be disappointed.. you know the sin you did the thoughts the words what you watch and read yet there is no condemnation. He just smiles and says "that's why I died". Don't believe a word I say.. He is your Father if you believe in Christ so ask Him from your heart.. ask Him how He sees you.. He will tell you show you. Righteousness is right standing with God we get that by believing in trusting in Jesus
