Keeping commandments is the goal of every Christian...so yes, I obey the commandments.

How do you keep the commandments? For example, how do you keep the 1st commandment? Can you tell me all that must be done to be able to say you have kept this commandment?
How do you keep the commandments? Well the ten commandments is split into loving God and loving your neighbor.
Matthew 22: 35 - 38
35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment
.

So if you keep the first 4 commandments then you love GOD.

There is alot here, and were you inclined to hear what I had to say, I would address it. But I don't believe this to be the case.
You clearly believe that man needs to contribute works to grace for salvation. Nothing I share will alter that view. So rather than continue, I bid you grace and peace.
Why am I not surprised?

So, I will take the exam:

True F Without Faith it is impossible to please God - Heb. 11:6
True F All scripture is given by inspiration of God - II Tim. 3:16,17
True F No one is justified by works
True F No one is justified by the works of the law - Gal. 2:16
T F There is no contradiction in scripture Well, there are a few minor ones and one major one (which Paul explained in Romans)
T F All works will cause us to be lost Only if we depend for salvation on doing them
T False We see then that by works a man is justified and not by faith only - James 2:24 justified by faith that is genuine or followed by faithful works
True F Faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone - James 2:17
T False Abraham was justified by works when he offered up Isaac on the altar - James 2:21 He was justified by faith manifested by that faithful work
T False Abraham was justified by faith and by works same as previous
True F To have faith, one must first have God’s word upon which to base faith faith is in God = GW
T F ? Faith can extend beyond God’s commands and be acceptable to God the question is unclear
True F Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God - Rom. 10:17
T False One can offer whatever one wants, even that not commanded by God, and God must accept it as right
True F Cain’s offering was not accepted by God because it was not of faith - Heb. 11:4 but stated as doing right in GN 4:7 (here is one of those minor contradictions mentioned above)
True F Abel’s offering was accepted by God because it was offered in faith - Heb. 11:4
True F Rahab acted in faith - Heb. 11:31
T False We can continue in sin in order to receive God’s grace - Rom. 6:1
T F ? Abel offered only what God had commanded the Bible does not say that
True F Abraham’s faith wrought with his works and by his works his faith was made perfect - James 2:22
T False A man is justified by works and not by faith only - James 2:24 same as above
True F There are different kinds of works
True F Faith is a work - John 6:28,29
True F Jesus became the author of eternal salvation unto all that obey Him - Heb. 5:8,9
T False Obedience is earning salvation
True F All earning salvation is sin
T False All obedience is sin
T False The only way to be pleasing to God is to disobey Him
T False We can be saved without obedience
T False We can be saved before obedience
T False Works of merit are the same as works of obedience
T False A work of faith is sinful
True F We can do the works of God - John 6:28,29
True F The work of God is that we believe - John 6:28,29
True F Believing is a work of God - John 6:28,29
T False All works are earning salvation and are sinful
T False Believing is sinful
True F We are saved by faith only
True F We are saved by repentance only - Luke 13:3
True F We are saved by confession only - Matt. 10:32,33
True F We are saved by baptism only - I Pet. 3:21
[Note - the last three are various ways of saying we are saved by faith]
True F We must take all God’s word says on a subject to have the whole truth
True F Our sins must be washed away to be saved
True F The blood of Christ washes away sin of a lost sinner when one has faith to repent and be baptized for the remission of sins - Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16
True F He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved - Mark 16:15,16
True F We repent and are baptized for the remission of sins - Acts 2:38
T False Baptism is something you do Baptism is what the HS does to you/how Jesus enters your heart
True F Baptism is something that is done to you Even water baptism, which portrays spirit baptism
True F Baptism is a burial - Rom. 6:4 And a resurrection
True F A dead man cannot bury himself
True F We are raised from baptism to walk in newness of life - Rom. 6:4

I understand. What I'm asking is what actions would I perform to insure that I have kept the commandment? Flesh it out for me. Please detail every action I must perform.

Can you summarize this in a statement or two in your own words?
John 17:2-3 God gave Jesus authority over all people, making Him a prophet to all mankind, with the intention that Jesus would share with them all that the Father had given to Him, and all those shared things are what constitutes aeonous life. God's purpose in having Jesus share with us all that the Father had given to Him, was so that through receiving and practising those things in union with Christ, we would come to know by experience God and Jesus better.

I believe this is what the Greek of vv. 2&3 is actually communicating.

Everyone sins, so we can know God and still sin.m, but those who live in lifestyles of sin void of repentance do not know God.
Makes sense on the surface.

3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. (1 Jn. 2:3-6 NKJ)

So, is there really any difference between knowing God and obeying God (as a lifestyle as you say)?

Thus, is your statement below, correct?

The reason I point out what eternal life is is because while one would expect someone who is saved to obey, we were saved to know God. And once we do, we possess eternal life. If one can lose eternal life, is it really eternal?
24 "For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. 25 "Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 "I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. (Ezek. 36:24-27 NKJ)

The rebirth was always to bring about obedience and obedience is knowing God. It's also other important things in our relationship with God.

I agree that the works of the law are different kinds of works. But what works did they do that is said to justify them?
Works of repentance shows we're justified before God. Works of faith prove we're living the righteous life.
When Jesus said we will know them by their fruit, He's talking about their righteous works.

When you sin do you cease being saved?
sorry to reply too
I see what studier has said. Me too growing in this grace given me to mature
seeing "I" can't do it, "I" want to and yet can't ever under Law to do it yourself attitudes of the flesh. trying to do Law has taught me what Paul has said in Galatians to them and called them foolish in Chapter 3
God never forsakes anyone, people forsake God and have since day one in the fall of the first Adam
The second Adam, Jesus Christ has by his o e time willing death once for us all has reversed the curse of the first Adam that was in "Unbelief" to God as the second Adam, Jesus Christ was in Beleif all the way to death willingly.

Whenever anyone sins again whether want to or not, matters not. God by Son has reconciled us all to himself. For us to see new in the love and mercy for us all. To let go of the self righteous self as Paul talks of in Phil 3 about, if or since you want to go there in the flesh self works. Lets go
I was born of the tribe of Benjamin, circumcised on the eighth day. A Pharisee of Pharisees
And we the people of today are being people better than other people

Nothing can separate anyone from the love of God for all, Nothing
Sin can't, Father continues to love us anyway, thanks to the done work of Son once for us all

John 19:30 that had to be done first, before any new life could get imputed to anyone e to see it is done for us to be freed and love all as are loved first in truth. Son is risen for that to be risen in us too.
So, I just sinned again, who is going. to condemn me? God, No way, if did then God lied and with Son it is all a scam
1 Cor 15
God just loves us all y'all that does not quit and is why Paul said he put the past behind him and continued moving forward, understanding he remained forgiven by God, to now learn from all mistakes made and not to ever think he was perfect, only God is. therefore he was able to learn and not be condemned as people do that to each other, God does not, thanks
I see glory in my iniquities do you?

I appreciate your response. When you sin, are you still saved? Has the blood of Christ ever become insufficient for your justification?

When you sin do you cease being saved?
No, I do what I'm commanded and in our dynamic walk with Him, I acknowledge my known sin to God and He cleanses and forgives me of all unrighteousness. IOW, I remain in the walk doing what He commands me to do and if I err I acknowledge it and keep walking.

Over time I came to rely more on approaching Him in times of need (Heb4) where I could see that I was struggling mentally with some sin. I have found Him to be faithful in assisting me at the mental level.

I haven't used the latter enough on these threads.

If I hadn't been learning these things He's provided in our walk during the being saved part of His Salvation Process. I wonder if that's part of what the writer of Hebrews was rebuking at the end of Heb5.
