I need to lock in it's been hard to avoid the same temptations
Howdy and welcome to the Forum.

If I remember my French class accurately... TripleSad? That's a lot of sad.

When I keep going back to something I don't want to do, it helps if I analyze why I keep going back to it. Obviously believing I don't want to do it is a lie, because I keep doing it, so apparently I do in fact want to do it. Why do I want to?

When I figure out why I do want to do this thing I say I don't want to do, it usually turns out to be pretty silly. Then it's easy for me to get over it and move on.

Yeah... I also know it's just my brain craving more dopamine and using my survival instincts for the wrong thing... At this point I've begun to develop a sort of conditioning for it... A certain time comes and my brain reminds me what I usually do.

Developing new habits and routines can be a life saver. Are you talking about cracking open a cold one? Have you tried AA? New playgrounds, playmates, and playthings, as they say. I don't have a panel for Psalm 23:3, but I did design this one...

Psalm 27:4

The male brain on that kinda corn is an unhinged fool's paradise. You gotta nail the creature of habit to the Cross.
Telling me I'm an unhinged fool is not helpful nor does it come as a surprise to me as I do possess self awareness! Nailing this habit to the cross is far easier said than done, however I'm aware that that is the solution.

I wasn't seeking to imply that you were unhinged. I was referring to our state of mind when we're addicted to looking at things in that light which is darkness.

Fleeting pleasures can't hold a candle to eternal treasures. You know which road leads to nowhere, and you don't have to go down that road anymore.

I would subscribe to Dr Peter Osbornes channel. He's the best known expert on grains. His book is titled, No Grain, No Pain . I love the taste of corn; however Corn is heavily sprayed and has a protein that causes serious health problems. I learned this and gave up on the GMO (nearly all corn is now), oil, corn syrup/ sugars/ starches.
I still eat popcorn because the food industry hasn't gotten around to ruining it yet with genetic modification.

The OP has a problem with quite a different kind of temptation...

Try changing the first letter of the word corn. Eventually you'll hit on the problem he has. Something like the 16th try if you try it methodically, or the 15th if you leave out c because it's what you started with.

Take it one day at a time, this works for any kind of temptation, when tempted just say no not today and do something else that is productive or of value.

Matthew 6:34
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Peace.
