Thanks
My only hope. since God calls for perfection, Son gives this to us, in spite of our ignorances, mine at least
So amazing to be able now to enter his courts in thanksgiving and praise, with all sin taken away by Son for us to stand in thanksgiving and not think one is better than another.
I simply need God for me to not get haughty or be a Betty better than others
Have asked in past and did not get, wondered why, then. saw why
James 4:3
When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
Also saw Solomon, where God said to Solomon, you can have whatever you want. I noticed, Solomon only wanted wisdom in his to answer people in thier troubles and know who is lying as in the bay episode of two women, both claiming the baby is theirs. Wow and Solomon says, okay let split the baby in two, and the real mother stood up and said no it is the other woman's baby, that was not hers, which told Solomon who the real mother was.
Today in Luke

New International Version

14 But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. 15 For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.

God is good all the time as good is God all the time, a quote from the movie, God is not dead

1 John says otherwise.

Also, James tells saved people to confess their sins to each other.

James 5:16

Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Kind of hard to confess our sin if we have no sin.
Not only that, but how does this guy even pray the Lord's Prayer?
"forgive us our sins, as we forgive those that sin against us...."

Since the drama that arose in the forum about clothing in the church, I told myself that I was not going to comment further, because it always turns into a royal rumble,
Yup that's standard for religious forums.

but I see that there is so much confusion in this forum. Some say that babies are born without sin, without understanding that sin is inherited, it is not necessary to sin to be a sinner, it is for this reason that Jesus had to be born of a virgin
Totally unimportant. Every one of us will start sinning as soon as we can. we will be judged FOR OUR OWN SIN (not Adam's).

Others say that a saved person cannot sin because Jesus has cleansed us.
And some people say that the Moon is made of green cheese, and the earth is flat. Paul says that if we CONFESS OUR SIN, He is faithful and just to forgive us etc.

BUT HEY!!! it's all nothing but "Theology" which is like noses - everybody's got one.

Matthew 10:22
And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake: but he that shall persevere unto the end, he shall be saved.

Matthew 24

3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

We're they asking , Sir what must I do to be saved?
No, because the plain answer is, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.
Acts 10:30-31

This chapter He explains the signs of His return and the end of the world.
He uses the same term in the same way as in other passages in the book of Matthew.
One thing that will help you understand the gospel is when you read the Bible, look at the context. The word "saved" is used in various ways.
Peter walked on the water to Jesus.
What did he say when he was afraid and began to sink?

Matthew 14
30But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

I could misinterpret this verse and teach this as a salvation verse, but I would be wrong. I would be intentionally or ignorantly deceiving you. Regardless of intentions, the results would be the same....hell.
What's the context, salvation of his soul and spirit? No, of course not. It's his physical life, his flesh.

Likewise in Matthew 24 the context is not what works you have to do and things to endure at the end to be given eternal life in heaven, is it?
No, it's clear from context that Jesus is explaining cataclysmic events that will preceded his return and the rapture or catching away of the believers/ elect.
It even states this plainly.

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened
Matthew 24

Is the flesh referring to the body, physical life, surviving the tribulation, OR the spirit, how to go to heaven ?

Matthew 10
21And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. 22And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. 23But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another

How did Jesus use the term saved here? Is this His requirement for eternal life of the soul and spirit?
Of course not.
Why did He tell his disciples to flee to another city ?
ANSWER: Because some would hate them so much they would try to kill them. They were enduring those hardships and not giving up. They had a purpose to be there preaching, just as those do when it's getting close to the Lord's return.
It was their PHYSICAL LIFE, the flesh that would be saved.

Does that make sense now?

Just commenting. Threads in religious boards tend to meander, and "Original Sin" is just another rabbit trail among many. nothing but "Theology".

Why do you believe a person who has persevered to the end still sins?

Matthew 10:22
And you shall be hated by all men for my name's sake: but he that shall persevere unto the end, he shall be saved.
People must perservere in FAITH... Not in achieving a state of sinlessness in faulty human flesh.. No one is sinless and ever will be sinless while being in this faulty fallen flesh..

Not only that, but how does this guy even pray the Lord's Prayer?
"forgive us our sins, as we forgive those that sin against us...."
Teach me Father from your view, what is done for me and the whole world by you through Son that is risen for me to be new by you, in trust to you to get me through it all, seeing the mysterious ways, of you, that I will not see until you reveal them to me as needed to be from you, thank you
Especially, thank you that by Son: you have forgiven me forever in you, wow teach what Isaiah said in Isaiah 6:1-7 about the hot coals touching his lips, I trust you to do the same to me.
I have seen this from you, that I am forgiven, even in my sin(s). It has been like you have been here with me the whole time (You have), never forsaking me, never leaving me, as I know you should have forsaken me even on just one sin. For I have sinned, and even after belief in Son Jesus is risen for me to be new in his risen life for me, I have sinned again and again. Yet, you entered in, because I believe in your done work for us all.
I see how and why now. How by Son's done work for me and all others also to believe this too, to be new in your view, not this world's view. Seeing 1 John 2 after I got messed up in Chapter 1 it goes on in 2 to tell me you just love me and all others too, thank you!
As far as the east is from the west, for me to not have anymore sweat over the sin issue, Thank you. For in Son Psalm 103:12 is done by Son, you ready to give each that choose to believe you a new heart as in Ezekiel 36:26
Now, since this is done by Son, that you approved of, by raising Son back to life, for us the people to be saved, our Souls, not our flesh, yet that is to be redeemed also, one day, so daily die to the first born self and learn to stop trying not to do wrong, for by trying not to, is how I have been caught up in it more often than not, Romans 7. when I do not know, not trying to do it of me, I see to let go of me trying to not sin, by that in Romans 7 it is why I still sin a lot more than if I just trusted you to do through me what I see I can't do. You can and did it through Son first for us all to believe you, stand in you even through any adversities, thank you a million times over and over and over again and again
I am mainly speaking to me and my experiences with God personally, over people that fight and argue and condemn and not condemn, if others see as the other one does or not, Accuse and excuse, not remembering this amazing grace given by God getting caught up under Law, that no one can perform perfect but God Father his self
We are forgiven at that cross of Son for us all. That is done (John 1:29, 19:30) Law and Prophets are fulfilled, not destroyed fulfilled, (Matthew 5:17) for us all to believe and see new over time in not ever giving up as said in (Col. 1:21-23) to stand in this truth for you too, thank you
PS, I now see I forgive, because I am forgiven by God first
I do not forgive to get forgiven by God, I am forgiven, therefore my response is to automatically forgive. Automatically love, because I am loved where all fear leaves as in 1 John 4:18 tells me.

A question to all. why are we entertaining this? Other them quoting Matt Vote40 has not back up anything they said. Then quoting Matt who was Christ talking to? Yeah were talking about the new man which never happened until Christ died and rose.. ooh that something to should about!

If we understand just what hes talking about well we know he will not be posting some scriptures because they being Gods words do not support his personal view. There is a truth in what hes talking about yet not. John 1-3 dealt with a group that believed they never sinned. In Rom 6 the sweet holy Spirit through Paul ..remember its no longer I that sin but sin that is in me? Well if we keep reading

"What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!" Shall "we" sin because". Yeah.. to make it simple Vote40.. own it! I know who I am I also know what My Father sees .. sees me through Christ. Yet I am still in this flesh that love to sin. It has not been changed yet "if" it sins yeah I did it.. I made the free choice. Christ told a Church in Rev to repent.. why? They were not fallen away.. they were not warm or cold. So were not made new? Anyway this grade school stuff

Being ready to give an account for my joy, while in adversity. In season or out, available for God to use me as God’s vessel, and all others that are willing also. The same as what happened on pentecost, not exactly the same, just ready for God to reach out to everyone, God puts on my path for that day.
ready! Willing! Able! Thanking God daily whether it be good or bad happening, contentment. In everything. As Paul pointed that out, when in jail, and was made fun of. He remained content in trust to God above it all. Said even the jail help saw his joy remain and so came to believe as well
amazing how God takes everything in and can and does turn it into good. And even think this as well. Being in jail, got him writing, those writings are what we see and read today, amazing, God does just love us all y’all

Of course, saved people sin. We are forgiven, that is, with God's acceptance, but we always need to pray for God's power through Jesus' resurrection to make spiritual progress in overcoming sin and becoming more like him. Read Colossians 3, where Paul makes that very point.

sin is an inheritance... we were born sinners and will always sin, but once saved our sins are forgiven past, present and future through Christ.
And Jesus' resurrection power gives us the resource to make spiritual progress (Colossians 3), though because we still live in these bodies, we don't become perfect until we die.

The apostle John wrote to his audience "these things" so that they may not sin.

HOWEVER..........

He also wrote that if they (and by extension we) sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

Scripture never says that believers stop sinning altogether.

we at that cross where all are forgiven through Son's done work then and there for us all 1 John 2:1-12 tells me this truth
It is by trust to the done work for me that teaches me new and has taught me new. How?
By going to God, Yahweh in thanksgiving and praise over the done work of Son, Jesus, Yeshua, on that cross in the last sacrifice and shedding of blood, done once for all (Hebrews 10:10)
It is done, finished for us as in John 19:30 to us to see it, and be thankful.
To say to God, thank you I am forgiven by you, even though I just sinned again, not in unbelief to you, in lust(s) of this world I am in still, learning to not be of this world, only in it for now. trusting for you Father to get me through it all in the done work of Son that is risen for us all to stand in or not. that is the only free choice left for us to either believe God personally or not, in my honest opinion from my experiences here on earth
Thanks
